Blake Wilson

I had my doubts, felt he was too easily dominated in tackles. But seeing the combinations form and the attitude change in the team has help unlock his abilities. That run was magical, shame the pass went astray cause that would have been a try of the year contender.

Xerri will only get better but he's been looking off this last month

How does Wilson go at centre? If he goes alright, I suspect if he keeps playing like today he isn’t far off replacing Xerri. As much as I love Xerri and can’t point to anything he’s done wrong, he seems to have plateaued a bit in the last month and it might be worth giving him a stint in NSW Cup to get some pace and attacking confidence back.

We have just won 3 in a row.
They won’t be dropping xerri lol

Blake Wilson is a better NRL footballer than Skelton this is why Gus & co pick him ahead of Skelton in the NRL side. Yesterday showed Wilson's value to the club. Great game by Wilson.

Great fucking spot with the avatar mate. Happy days Burto!

I'm guessing he is 100% over the pneumonia which is good.
Looked it! :grinning:

Only place for Skelly (unless injury) is backup or benchie transitioning to forwards and backs utility player?

I couldn't move Wilson for Skelton now. Don't want to move Kiraz but he has to go to centre...

1. Tracey
2. Skelton
3. Kiraz
4. Xerri
5. Wilson

For the special people, I'm OBVIOUSLY talking about origin affected roosters match.

Love Wilson he was lucky he played on the right and not the left he would of never of touched the ball with Xerri next to him.

After watching Wilson at the Bundaberg game last year, I was very impressed and went to bat for him but he did seem fatigued and off his game after pneumonia and thought give Skelly a go. Always thought tho that probs his best chance was a forward/backs benchie.

Regardless we are well served by the guys we have.

They reported Xerri pull hamstring during the match

I'm a Fox fan but will admit that Wilson scores tries the Fox can't. His agility is 2nd to none.

Hard one. I think the Fox would have scorched the left side last night as well.

Going to be interesting next year. He'll be looking to be regular first grade player and I feel the Club is likely to chose him over the Fox for that contract extension.
Love the Fox and what he does for the club but I don't feel that in 2026 and beyond his cost will justify his in game performances compared to Wilson who will only get better.

I like having the big body at centre.. even in his quiet games you don't see him getting ragdolled like many previous centres we have tried. I think the bye will do him wonders.. it's got to be a long season when you've been out for four years.
