News Anyone for Cheese?

I'm with others on here reckon that Mahoney needs to tone down the niggling and such and
concentrate on what we bought him for.
Late in the season he himself got re niggled by the opposition which turned him off the game plan
and became the weak link in the spine.
Im sure Ciro could see that and will address the issue before kick off next year.
On his game he is one of the best.
At this moment the Cheese has too many negatives = NO

It’s his attitude that sucks! Wouldn’t fit in with our group of players, but he’s a perfect fit for the roosters where arrogance is their cup of tea!!

His attitude has definitely brought down his value. I doubt even clubs like Tigpies will throw silly money.

Brandon Smith’s future at the Roosters looks to be coming to an end, with the gun hooker revealing he’s “not really in a rush” to sit down with NRL rivals.

It comes amid a report from The Daily Telegraph, revealing rival clubs have reportedly been approached by the Tricolours to gauge their interest in Smith’s services.

The 28-year-old is contracted until the end of the 2025 season, meaning he’s free to sit down with prospective clubs regarding a move for the 2026 season.

As it stands, he’s sidelined until the middle of next year after he went under the knife on his knee, suffering a brutal MCL and ACL injury to close out the regular season.

Smith’s earning a reported $900,000 per-season, but has battled with injuries and form during his time at the Roosters.

Speaking on James Graham’s The Bye Round podcast, Smith opened up on his current contract situation.

“My manager told me when do you want me to talk to other clubs and I just said I am not really in a rush at the moment,” Smith said.

“Usually you sign a contract for security … in case pre-season you get injured or something happens like that. With me, I am already injured.

“I don’t have a risk of being reinjured. So I just told them to wait it out, don’t talk to anyone yet and I want to go back to training and get my knee right.”

“I don’t want to go anywhere and my partner is well entrenched in the club. Ideally I would like to stay but the game of rugby league doesn’t always have the same opinions as yourself.”

Smith’s comments come after reports surfaced that Smith’s stay at the Roosters wouldn’t be extended past his current contract.

I actually think lock is his best position and he would really suit our style of play but also have a few reservations about him...

Oh and he's definitely not worth 900k!
But if you want my real thoughts on the fat fuck...

No to Cheese… but fuk whinging about Mahoney… one of the greatest individual defensive efforts in nrl history. He was turning a bog average team in 23 to credible in 24…we had no fuking front rowers with aggression and he still copping shit why don’t you tone it down…

Smith's no more an 80 minute hooker than Mahoney, and his distribution is no better. He was adding way more value in the rotating lock/hooker role Bellamy had him in, with a bit more weight on. Add in his loose cannon tendancies and he's not worth it.

Mahoney needs less niggle and a bit less defensive work, and more focus on passing, running and organising.

I'd take him but I don't think Gus will go there. At the right price in the forwards he'd be value imo.

wouldn't surprise me if Parramatta end up making a play for Smith considering they need a dummy half
He's definitely not a dummy half!
Moldy Cheese its a no from me.

How do we sack JAC then sign Stinking Rotten Cheese ? NO

I doubt he would last one training session let alone pre-season with us.

Got lucky and didn't sign him the first time, from me its a no.

No, he goes good on his day but we aren’t screaming for a 9 or a 13 really so it’s a pass for me. Shows where the club is at because 2 yrs ago we prob offer him more than market and get less a player then he’s been at either club
