The Highland Park parade was halted ten minutes after it began when gunshots rang out through the crowd.

Police have confirmed the lone shooter was positioned on a nearby rooftop overseeing the parade and a rifle was found on the scene.

Authorities say the shooter is still at large and are asking residents to avoid the area.
