Yep exactly. This is just speculation but it's very possible that the board caught wind of Hill talking to other clubs or that he was setting himself up to leave and called him in and put his resignation letter in front of him. Could explain the shocked quote from Hill, maybe he was just putting some feelers out there but once the board finds out they have no choice, his position as CEO would be untenable.

Surely he would have got caught out doing something, imagine how much worse it would have looked for the club if the media found out about something and the club hadn’t done anything about it.
