Scored the winner well done son... as for the first try by the gronks, coaches want their full backs in the defense line early in the set.. it was more a case of great vision by the broncos half and playing to conditions

I was very happy with him tonight

He made some early positional errors

But seemed to improve as the game went on

Credit to the kid
He is learning every game and getting his confidence. First broncos try, put it down to inexperience but that's OK you won't see it again. We need these young kids pushing for positions and Des needs to reward them by sticking by them.

Abbey is still shit and cant wait till hoppa gets back
Really? Kid won't ever be a superstar IMO but he is a genuine fullback who backs up brilliantly and will play the role we need him to.

Abbey was great under the high ball tonight, and was up in the attack looking for opportunities. On a dry track he would have been more of a problem for the Broncos.

Sure, he was caught out when they chipped through for their try, but most fullbacks get caught like that early in the play. At least he wasn't stupid enough to pick up a ball not going the ten to give away a penalty.

Heading in the right direction but still alot of work to do, I'm not ready to say he won't cut it yet. Unless we end up with someone like Tedesco our options are limited at the moment anyway.

Apart from his early mistake on Brisbane's opener, Abbey played brilliantly. He's gaining confidence with each game and didn't allow his head to drop after his early error. Positive signs.

Would rather watch Abbey any day than Hopa who is only a part-timer, doesn't support enough, is too slow in attack and hopeless as the last line of defence. Hopa never saves a try. Abbey backed up the ball carrier more tonight than Hopa ever has

Hoppa is way better defensively. But abbey is getting there. Longer term were better off with abbey.. I think as his confidence grows we'll see his ball playing just grow.

Hoppa reminds me of perrett. An old school full back that is there for defensive purposes.. and kinda lacks attack

He's improving each game which is a big plus. Improvement on positioning is needed. But always backs up A+ Abbey deserved his try. Very pleased for him

If Abbey was stronger he'd be a superstar... Throwing himself into the game tonight showed his keen enough and gaining confidence. Will grow.

Just needs to model himself on Moylan who seems to be a fair comparison physically speaking
