its a fair point of view . I thought he played ok in his first match and put the errors down to nerves but his positional play was yesterday was unforgivable . Just shows his mind is not mature enough to play NRL.

Nrl is more than just knowing how to play football , everyone knows how to play football at that level so its more about strategy particularly as part of the spine. He failed big time
I dont think his body is mature enough either Wolfie.

Did you see the non-nulge in his shorts!?

I can't believe people are giving this kid shit. Are u fucking serious?! It was his 2nd game yesterday and he's only fucking 20. Of course he's going to make mistakes. He's fucking learning. He will get better. He will improve his game. It's called fucking experience. He tried his arse off yesterday. Yeah he made a few mistakes but he will get better. He will learn. At least he showed heart yesterday and kept trying. Give him a fucking break!!!

Its not so much that he was poor yesterday - its that Abbey was ordinary in Intrust Cup throughout last year - no urgency in defence, cant pick up low balls, average in attack - no improvement.

Hes either just too green for fg or one of those players who were freaks in juniors because they don't tackle there, that won't kick on. Probably too soon to call it. So far though Hopoate wouldnt be sweating too much about his position when he returns from injury.

Have u seen him in Intrust competition, have u seen how he consistently plays, a few of us have kept a close eye on him since he arrived and the way he played last 2 games is how he normally plays. Kid isn't FG material, too small, cant pass, cant catch, cant perform under pressure.
He cant make the step up from boys 2 men unfortunately..

How on earth could he play good footy with the rabble in front of him. Give him time as he has ability.

He was just as shit last week in a winning team

You could put him in the Queensland state of origin team and he would still be shit

That's because he is shit

He's nowhere near the same standard as the other young backs that have wraps on them like Trbojevic and Mitchell.

Probably a mistake putting him into fullback so early but the options were limited, moving B-Moz there would have more than likely resulted in another injury.

Truth is Hasler would not have played him in FG if Stanley, Kennar or Phillips were available.

If Hopoate or Morris were playing fullback yesterday is there a significant change in the result? Hopoate plays we're probably a try better off defensively, Morris? We MIGHT have scored a try. Pure speculation.

The fact is Morris isn't our future at fullback and Hopoate isn't our future at fullback, while we have Abbey on the books we need to figure out if he's worth re signing or if we need to move him on - but either way he needs to be given more time.
