Why let him off, when the family/community are left suffering the loss due to his actions?
Why let off the PIGS that trained him to behave like this too?

A very sad case all around, but this is what needed to happen. The fact that he said "bugger it" just before tasering her seems to speak to his state of mind. He made a choice and it was a poor one and he should have known better.
 
Mrs Nowland has received at least some justice. Absolutely despicable and unnecessary act by a serving police officer.

To be fair, greater society holds some blame for this, as we've allowed the troopers, sorry, PIGS, to get away with their despicable behaviour for generations!

Even the old people nurses should of been able to over power her without this escalating
 
If she was that frightening and harassing, why didn't the cops use riot shields to protect their front.

The nursing staff were useless as well really. This kind of thing happens nightly in most homes from what I've been told by friends in the industry.

Anyway hopefully he his stood down permanently and Police taught better management skills in handling frail 95 year olds.

Terrible trauma and sadness for her family to be taken out so senselessly by a Police Officer like that.

Reckon plenty of old people nurses have dealt with this and worse in the past Bob. These days if they do so they get reprimanded for not calling the police.

Plus they don't get paid nearly as much...
 
A really weird aside.

I was in a conflict resolution workshop trial today run by a martial arts guy who runs a security consultancy. Works with all sorts all over the country.

He mentioned during this you would not believe how strong a 95 year old dementia patient can be and should never be taken likely. I sort of went wtf knowing about this but never got the chance to flesh it out further.

Maybe theres more on the video than what the news is reporting? Before I get flamed reckon this is all shit as fck with what the police guy involved has done but just trying to work out where the fck this guy was coming from?

Kristian White took less than a min before using the taser. He said bugger it, before firing it. (So he was impatient). Then when he hit her with the taser barbs, he said got her.
 
I think @Alan79 has worked in a retirement home or something similar before - do the eldery people in there often act up?
