as much as i like kiraz, the nsw backline is literally stacked. there’s no chance he gets in. maybe in the squad as emerging blues or whatever but he won’t play

I would prefer Hynes at 6 to partner The Chin but Freddy will pick Luai due to club form.

Hynes will more than likely be No.14 which means that NSW will run with an 80min Hooker and only play Hynes at Hooker if he needs too.

Jacky Wighton probably will be 18th Man which he fits perfectly as able to cover any position.

Most positions pick themselves (depending on fitness and injuries) with probably one wing spot and one back row spot available knowing Freddy...

Queensland have a logjam in the forwards with Welch, Collins, Cotter, Papalii, Horsburgh, Moeaki, Nanai, Arrow etc all vying for a few spots.

Personally I think their pack/bench should be:

8: Welch
9: Hunt
10: Tino
11: Fifita
12: Capewell
13: Carrigan

14: Grant
15: Cotter
16: Horsburgh
17: Nanai (despite being in horrible form he was one of their best last year)

Either way a lot of good forwards will miss out

Nanai will still be suspended for Origin 1 I think I heard it reported the other day. Horsbrough will be good value in Origin, hope he gets picked he'll go troppo.
Capewell needs to get back to flopping his doodle through glory holes, he's been a dud since back in those, ahem, glory days of his career years ago.

Yeah Horse is made for Origin. He deserves a call up this year.

Haha. Capewell has been solid again this year. He's always good for them in Origin though and is valuable as he can fill in well at centre if they get an injury in the backline.
