Has anyone on here experienced the club go through a similar period like this?

I've been a Dogs supporter since 1981 and the leanest period I can remember was 89-92 although we were extremely competitive. 2017 to 2023 is the worst I've seen but I hold out hope that we'll turn it around in the next couple of years.

4 plays that stifled our attack (Round 3)

It wouldn't have been pretty. In saying that, the 2004 side was littered with rep players and future rep players compared to this one. We've got two world class backs joining us next year. Just need to add a couple of forwards who run hard and we'll creep our way back up the ladder.

4 plays that stifled our attack (Round 3)

Well done on a great post. Young halves always stuff up from time to time. They'll get better. This will all be a memory in a couple of years. If Flanagan scores that first try from the Elliott break, we're talking a very different ball game

News The passing of former player Bal Numapo

I'm going on memory because I was pretty young at the time. He was being played in the Centres in Reserve Grade (possibly 5/8th). When Peter Moore questioned Gould about where to play him, Gould said he would have to move Kevin to Hooker to accommodate him in the halves permanently. Peter Moore...

    Chris Smith Injury

That's really bad luck for him but a good result with it only being 3 months. The issue for players like Chris Smith is that he is not a walk up start to first grade when he returns from injury. He needs to be playing to keep his spot in the 17. I'm a fan of non-nonsense players like him. Every...

    Shane Flanagan

In the end, I believe the coach will be someone close to the Anderson family. Flanagan is just too hot an issue for our club. The media would have a field day which we want to avoid. Brett Kimmorley is my pick. The Anderson's have long memories and Dymock & Pay are not their favourite people.

Opinion Rule Changes you would like to see

    - ONE REFEREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - In-Goal sin-bin for one or two sets for repeated infringements - I would actually like to see escorting/protecting wingers legalised and then we wouldn't see so many bombs for the corners. They do it on every kick anyway. Too difficult to police - 7 Tackle...

    Super Ref

It wouldn’t happen if they just penalised the players for walking off the mark. The worst possible result for creeping now is being asked to go back. So players will take their chances.
  14. B

Opinion If pay gets the flick which coach would you like to coach the bulldogs ?

Given The Anderson's are very influential now, it wouldn't shock me if they went with Brett Kimmorley. He played with the club, he was a premiership winning halfback for Chris Anderson at Melbourne and followed him to Cronulla. In saying that, Dean Pay deserves a chance with a squad that is...

We listened to the game on Radio as well. Pretty sure we were at a Picnic with family. I can't remember who said it but they said he beat the bugler who played The Last Post back to his seat. R3 Dogs vs Warriors 3-2-1

I can't split Jackson and Graham. Brett Morris 1 point. It's taken 9 seasons to figure out that JMoz is a right centre
  18. B

Could JMOZ transition to the backrow next year

I don't think it will happen but it's not the worst idea I've heard. There have been some good players make the transition. Jarrod McCracken, Dene Halatau, Greg Eastwood are ones that come to mind. I think Rona has a future in the Centres as well.

    No Double Standards

Bulldogs could play two NRL games at Belmore in 2016 despite being ‘expensive'

It's all well and good to want to play with your mates but in the end you mates don't pay your bills. It's a no-brainer to play with the Dogs and not the Tigers for Job Security alone. How many games have you been to?

My first game was 1981 at Henson Park vs Newtown. I estimate 250+ now. I've seen some great times and not so great times. 1991-1995 was the best as Peter Moore, Chris Anderson & Terry Lamb re-built the club after a mass exodus of players that won premierships in the 1980's.

Good Luck to him. He moves from a part-time role with the Dogs to a full-time role with the Raiders. It was his only choice if he wants to move into a head coach role. Also, we have a halves coach. Des Hasler played for Australia at Half-Back last time I checked.

2012 finals series has gone to script - interesting.

It has never happened. We played Souths in 1986 also. We beat them 16-2 on our way to a third straight GF appearance. Unfortunately Parramatta got us on the big day. I was 11 at the time and still remember the disappointment at not winning three in a row. Great times though.

How Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs transformed from 2008 (Fox Sports/Tele)

I think it was a guy called Keith Onslow. He's now at the Knights I believe. My brother did some business with him back then. He predicted that Peter Tuifoso would play for Australia. I think he played 20 NYC games in total if that.

'Dogs due a down game ... I smell an upset' - Laurie Daley

It's easy for him to pick the Raiders. If they win, he looks like a genius, if they don't he just takes the line that the Dogs are just too good and he doesn't get egg on his face. On the matter of a team being due a loss, I don't know any team that goes out and doesn't play as competitively as...

This is the titans vs bulldogs match thread!

What annoys me the most is we've chased the almighty dollar up there tonight instead of having home ground advantage. Perfect circumstance to play at Belmore. 10-2 penalty count was a disgrace. The team coming 2nd last is all of a sudden a perfect football team

Bulldogs Sides Confirmed for Dragons Trial Games

I'm pretty sure the coaches of each NRL side talk to each other about what sides they intend on naming for trials. A mate of mine's son played for Wests Tigers and before a trial with the Cowboys apparently Tim Sheens & Neil Henry spoke about the players they would put out there.

    bulldogs head coach superthread

The thing Ricky Stuart gives us that none of the others do is the ability to attract players such as Dugan & Bird. Young blokes will also stay for less money just to play for him. I'm not a great fan as I think he is a petulant coach but he will deliver us results.

Bulldogs vow to save season when they play Wests Tigers tonight

Kevin Moore - 2011 Discussion Thread

Kevin Moore is obviously a good Bulldog man but lets face it, he is not a first grade coach. In the 9 years that he assisted Steve Folkes, how many clubs rang and tried to poach him? How may clubs would allow him to coach them now? He was the assistant coach of Australia because his sister was...

Couldn't agree more, however given I have young kids I am trying to stop myself from using that language hahaha. He did the same thing last year against Parramatta. Goal kicking options

I agree with that. The point I made earlier was more referring to Bryson's urgency on the field. He made a couple of silly errors against Parra as well. Of course you want your goal kicker to kick 5,6 or 7 out of 7. What you don't want is him being tackled in-goal by the oppositions half-back...

No fears for Bulldogs' SCG rookies: Mortimer

That's the Dally Messenger Stand just in between the Bill O'Reilly and Don Bradman Stands. They were too good for us that year. Nothing to do with the players dropping balls or missing tackles. They seemed to be bigger, faster & stronger. They still lost the GF though. hahahaha

I reckon they're the best side in the comp on paper. Extremely hard to beat. When your 20's are competitive, it doesn't take long for your NRL side to be thereabouts. Canberra 20's of 2008, Tigers 20's of 2009. Watch the Warriors and Dogs over the next couple of years.
