Opinion Has Thompson been a flop or does he need better halves to work with?

We got ourselves into salary cap pressure spending $800k on a player who touches the ball a few times won’t get us out of it. We seem to have a history of going for the wrong players not helping us score points. Our number 1 priority should be on changing our entire spine - only then will we start seeing positive results through scoreboard pressure

How has he been in our top three every week? Maybe one or two weeks towards the bottom of the top three but that's about it.
Can you genuinely say anyone has been consistently better?

They've all been shit. Thompson's been the best of the bad bunch.

With all due respect, the people around him are that bad,it’s really hard to judge him,the team he played with in super league would thrash our side, fair dinkum this current side would finish mid table Canterbury cup if it was still going, complete broom needs to b put through our team,it is terrible

Stop calling him a coach, he isn't the crusty shit on a coaches arsehole.
Haha that's true, poor old SG never stood a chance. Will say it's better seeing his broken look in the box rather than Pays massive frown lol

Bit harsh, we have no 9 to bring the boys on the ball. We have no creativity around the ruck and halves who still sit on the edge. We play one out . Easy picking. 1.guy runs and is expected to run over 3 guys . Every towards need to run and have someone pushing up with them. Just sitting ducks without a threat .

Im more worried about his defence -not enough shoulder, legs tackler and doesnt cover the inside pass when marker - today was his worse game but he wasnt alone.

Had a shit game today.

I think he'll go good. New coach and use him properly.

The guy is known as being a machine for fitness. Got MOM in superleague GF for playing 73 minutes straight. So what do we do? Play him at lock make him run decoys and give him short stints, just unreal.

We even have him playing second fiddle to Ogden. So to recap, we bought the best prop in Super league to play him like the forth best middle at the club lol.

He is best out wide, where he can use his speed and stepping. We are using him as another Tolman - giving him balls when he has no room to run, and no-one running off him. He'd be better taking Jackson's position.

I think he needs time to adjust to the NRL, and he had a big break before coming. And he doesn't get any help from our halves or hooker

Hes being played out of position in a shit team. Wait to see what barrett does then judge him after a year. He was never going to come in and win us games. He's a forward (NOT A FUCKING LOCK!) at the end of the day. A signing with the future in mind. Not immediate success.
