From the comments made by the owner, I'd guess that they're a long way from ready to commit to a sponsorship deal right now and potentially not for a long time. I'd go as far as saying they were approached out of the blue for those comments.

Dog food is a compliment.
It’s quite clear to me that this grub is simply using the media platform to make it clear to other clubs ie Parramatta that he is still looking to sponsor and throw money at another NRL club! Was it necessary to include “supported Parramatta all his life” yes it was if he needed Parramatta to hear it loud and clear he wants to sponsor them instead of us. He said himself “ whether it be with the Bulldogs or another club, possibly other clubs” he can go and get fucked imo and take his low grade dog food sponsorship with him, he’s just using us to attract his beloved Eels to broker a better deal for himself and his dog food manufacturing company by manipulating the rubbish media to suit his own selfish needs! I’d rather chew on Smackos than eat the garbage his so called restaurant serves up! Piss off Rami your 15 minutes has been well utilised.

Great way to get some publicity for a business on the verge of collapse,a big 180 from the moralistic high ground they where taking a couple of weeks ago
I think Rashay's have been pretty consistent throughout. Tore up the deal the moment the news surfaced and came back to the negotiating table (halfway, maybe) once JO & CHN had been dealt with. They always said it was a 'family thing'. The 'family club' has responded and maybe the whole 'family' might reunite. Whatever. We need their $

Two quotes of that article really stood out for me;

"just as news broke that Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor had consensual sex with two schoolgirls during a visit to Port Macquarie."

"We have to learn how to forgive and move on in life. If you hold on to grudges, we will never go anywhere."

I find the second quote a bit hypocritical after basically saying that they might change their minds now that two young blokes careers are gone...

I'm not really a fan of these c*nts!

yeah that quote proves that whoever is talking for them has minimal brain quality because why would he be angry at the club or players and talk about grudges

it sounds like he is in shock that he is being interviewed for the first time and wants to spread some information that will make him sound good even if it doesn't make sense

Would rather borrow the money or risk going broke than take this rash’s money.

Maybe rashays are using government stimulus money to sponsor a footy team.

Obviously it'd be amazing to have them as a major sponsor as we definitely do need the money. However, this smacks of nothing else other than opportunism than anything else. His comment "whether it be with the Bulldogs or another club," he said. "Possibly other clubs." says it all really for me. Just placing themselves in the shop window either for potential new clubs or customers.

Can't blame him for trying to take advantage of the situation I guess. Would love to be wrong and see them come back as our major sponsor but ... not too sure about it!

Their $2m is just as good as anyone else’s $2m, but I’d make it $2.5m now because they renigged on the first deal. The price goes up not down when you bail out at the last minute, especially when we showed good faith by revealing it rather than keeping it quiet until the contract was signed, sealed and delivered. We have the high ground here, negotiate hard.

Wow. Cant believe some of the shit you guys are posting. Seriously, if he decided to come on board and sponsor us, after what our dickhead explayers did, and with this current economical downturn, it would be fucking massive. Massive!!!! Yet your all acting but hurt because he pulled out his support a few weeks back.
Have a look at how much the entire world has had to change in the past few weeks, and yet you all act as though we can do without a few mil from him?
I don't care who he supports, if he wants to give our club $2 mil, we would be fucking imbeciles to not take it.

Rashays will consider resuming sponsorship negotiations with Canterbury after the club and NRL moved swiftly to sack the two players involved in the Port Macquarie schoolgirl sex scandal.

Rashays was on the verge of committing to a $2 million deal to become the major backer of the Bulldogs just as news broke that Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor had consensual sex with two schoolgirls during a visit to Port Macquarie. The family restaurant quickly moved to disassociate itself from the "family club", leaving it the only team in the NRL without a major sponsor.

The contracts of Harawira-Naera and Okunbor were torn up last week when the NRL deemed they were "not fit and proper" for registration. Rashays owner Rami Ykmour was impressed by how the situation had been handled and hasn’t ruled out sponsoring Canterbury in the future.

"Absolutely, there is a chance, yes," he told the Sun-Herald. "What they have done, I think they have made the right decision for the club.

"We have to learn how to forgive and move on in life. If you hold on to grudges, we will never go anywhere.

"How long it will take them to bounce back from it, only God knows. But in the current climate we are in, people have got bigger things in their heads than what has happened with the Canterbury Bulldogs, if you know what I mean."

Ykmour is an avid league fan, having played the game and supported Parramatta all his life. He said sponsoring an NRL club remains a goal.

"One-hundred per cent – whether it be with the Bulldogs or another club," he said. "Possibly other clubs. I’m not saying I’m closing the door on the Bulldogs, it just depends on what the NRL decides and when the competition goes back on and the rest of it.

d its leagues club went from a $5 million profit in 2018 to a $4.47 million loss just 12 months later. Given the leagues club is closed due to government restrictions, the Bulldogs can ill afford to remain without a sponsor for a protracted period.

Ykmour said there may be a role for his firm in the future given its commitment to sport.

“We’re right through the grassroots of cricket, we do Shires cricket, local football clubs, we sponsor a whole soccer club, we do AFL, rugby union,” he said.

“We just paid for a team to go to New Zealand, a young Illawarra side. I’m a sporting nut.”

A real politician's reply from Ykmour. Nowhere does he say he will definitley sponsor the Dogs. The closest he came was saying:
"One-hundred per cent – whether it be with the Bulldogs or another club," he said. "Possibly other clubs". So, the media does the usual trick of making a headline that suggests sponsorship of the Dogs is around the corner. I take this story with a grain of salt.

DOG FOOD?
Wtf!!!
You think it's ok to demean a guy that has spent 5 years building a business that delivers delicious food by Islamic principals because he doesn't want to sponsor a team that he doesn't even support because they ducked around?
I don't get angry often at the kennel but to honest this has crossed a line for me. The guy sweats tears blood and guts to do this and just like that you shit on him like a bird or seagull!?
Can seriously understand why @SlovakSteve blocked you if this is the shit you spew. I might be up all night but cmon mods this is wayyyyyyyyu out of line.

I like Rasheeds. I often meet my daughter for lunch at one of their restaurants, and they will get my business again, once this virus lockdown is over.

But, this story is just media waffle; I don't think there is any substance to it.
