Notice how in both answers, she explicitly states that as of "right now" he is with us for 2017. She doesn't deny the rumour about him going, just acknowledges it.

So even if this article is true, she hasn't lied. It's just classic politician mode. Who knows, maybe something changed which tipped the situation over the edge and when the Chat to the Boss thing happened it was still very much an uncertain thing.

I will be pretty sad if we lose him, but if he goes, it will clearly be his own choice so I don't think it is fair that we rally the pitchforks against Des or Raelene.

She's not lying but she's defiantly spinning the question because he hasn't been released YET and is still on contract next year.
The way she's answered it though means he's gone otherwise she would have hit it right on the head and ended speculation and said hes on contract and will be here next year.

He loved his time at the dogs but the money, opportunity and chance to be surrounded by his family and his mrs family was too good to refuse especially with a young family of his own.

I hope you are correct. It makes sense for us to sign Lee to cover Stanley and Perrett. Hopefully Rona stays for one more year at least if not more.
