Seems from this article Gus is out of ideas / answers.

With everything that unfolded today this is the only plan I can think of. Remember how desperate we are before you criticise.

For 2024 Jordan McLean and Nathan Brown for 1 year only. We need a prop and lock the most (besides a star 7) and yes we're scrapping the bottom of the barrel. McLean is a big body at 118kgs. Brown can hit hard. We need to toughen up our D.

This November for 2025 we need to make Moeaki Fotuaika and Keaon Koloamatangi (to play middle) our top priorities. It's absolutely imperative we get at least 1 of the 2. If we miss out on one then consider Braden Hamlin-Uele and Lindsay Smith. If we can't get something of this quality we're f..ked yet again in 2025 IMO.

I'd also consider Jamal Fogarty for a 7. Also the English halfback is available for 2025 from memory. How's he going lately ?

For 2024 finally hire a f..king full-time specialist halves AND a dedicated kicking coach.

Teach Burton a passing game, better placement with his kicks and tell him if he's gonna kick it don't be a pussy and f..king boot it as high as you can each and every time OR you'll be f..ked off to centre quicker than you can say "suck shit". I'd actually seriously consider playing him centre anyway from the start of the year because it's going to take a while for Xerri to learn the game again in NSW Cup especially in defence.

Always play JAC left wing only. Bring Skelton in on the right. We need a big body to start off sets well from our own end. He's a tackle busting machine.

Play Crichton at fullback and in pre-season and trials try both Taaffe and Sexton at 7 (maybe BBO also). Taaffe was a NSW under 19's rep 7 a few years ago remember. Oloapu at 6 with more freedom given by Ciraldo to play his natural game

Move on RFM, Sutton and Perham who should never see first grade nor block the pathway of Joash Papalii in our NSW Cup team. Medically retire SST the second he's injured in any way shape or form.

Hire an experienced tough assistant coach (to replace Potter) who can actually motivate our players and teach some set moves in attack.

Gus tells Ciraldo to ease up on the Panthers defence system until we get a team full of smarter and more talented players. Go back to sliding D. We're not the Panthers.

Scout a couple of "fit" big body props currently playing lower grades for our competitors. Players looking for a break.

We need middles. We need a fullback. And most importantly we need better team selection.

If critchon kills it at fullback 1 problem solved. If Burton fails at 6 then centre or back row might be his go (he is our most dangerous ball runner though so wouldn’t toss him from 6 too fast). Taaffe was apparently a gun 7. He did rip us apart in the recent game but then again Newcastle scored 3 touch football tries so might have made him look better than he is. Will be a tough upgrade either at 1 or 14 then what we have had recently (Flanagan….. come on cirro).

One thing I will say for sure. Please leave fox on the left unless we a gun left winger which won’t happen. I have said it before Wilson has tits for hands. What we saw on the weekend is his norm in NSW cup. I agree with others that even though Skelton had huge issues in his game his ball carries are what we need to start the set (we get no forwards running over 100m and last game before he was dropped he ran for almost 200).

Anyways. We need 4-5 props, we need mahoney to get fit (sort of wish we got api instead of him). This wont be an easy or quick fix.

2024. Bring in Darryn Schonig and Taniela Sadrugu then search the lower grades for other forwards that can't break into first grade with their current team.
2025. Shed any remaining dead wood and sign guys like Tom Dearden, Jordan Riki, Moeaki Fotuaika, Zion Maiu'u, Xavier Willison, Siua Wong.

How about we do the “penrith “ system better. It isn’t penrith its basic defence
Dont get beat on inside shoulder, when the ball goes past you tie in with the defender beside you.
Dont go past the ball and dont rush out of the line, keep the line intact
Simple defence structure

Drive for 2025
2RWRS - BRENDAN PIAKURA COEN HESS
PROPS - LINDSAY SMITH AARON PENE & JAMAYNE TAUNOA-BROWN

Add this to Max King , Kiks and Presto and I'm seeing a good season with Harrison Edwards Liam Knight and SST as depth.

Surely we have some money coming back in the Cap to build a nucleus of a strong Pack that works hard and won't take a backward step.

Then to cap off the "Drive for 25" We sign Adam Reynolds to steer the ship.

Check out this line-up

1. Taffe
2. J.Addo - Carr (Skelton)
3. B. Xerri
4. S Crichton
5 B.Wilson (Kiraz)
6 M.Burton
7 A.Reynolds
10 L.Smith
9 R.Mahoney
8 A. Pene
11. V.Kikau
12. C.Hess
13. Preston

14. J.Salmon
15. B.Piakura
16 J.Taunoa- Brown
17. L. Knight
There's a nice plan from the A Team Murdoch

With an eye on 2024 only.

Get Jordan McLean, we need an experienced middle forward no matter how much people don't like the idea of signing him. Try and get Curran on an early release from the Warriors, I like Topine and want him to stay, but I really think he would thrive in their team.

8. McLean*
10. King
11. Preston
12. Kikau
13. Curran*

14. Salmon
15. Knight
16. Taukeahio*
17. Patalo / Hughes
