Hahaha...sure ;)

Just as another point of discussion that TK can help out with.....

Do videos of this distasteful nature (my opinion) lead punters to somewhat form lesser opinions of women in some way when seeing these ugly images of ho like behaviour.

Do teenage boys look at music videos where women depict themselves as pure scraggy pieces of sexual flesh bimbos and thrrefore get a lopsided view, and opinion, against women that has a bad conotation ...even if it's only a subliminal association... that might influence their thinking into adulthood which can affect their relationships with females?

That kinda makes sense to me but only you guys could shed some light on that.
It makes me appreciate a real self respecting woman when I come across one.

Would be nice to see an artist in 2020 simply just use their real name.

Singers these days have more symbols and numbers in their titles than letters ffs

Yep, fucking trash. "Rap" today is garbage with those mumbling posers who autotune the shit outta their vocals. Fuck 69 the skittles looking troll and that oompa loompa skank Nikki Minge Stinker.
Its all about image these days, the real musicians don't get much of a look in

Personally i think stuff like this is just sex positive feminism. It's about taking the power to slut shame away from men and take shit like this with a healthy spoonful of irony....a type of fuck you, you don't get to dictate how I should behave philosophy....it's a little punk rock. it's a little crass and it's over the top, sure..... it also runs the risk of being interpreted the wrong way, The same can be said about any form of counter culture though.

It really doesn't impact my feelings about women in any way..... but if it does affect the way men view women, you have to ask whether it is the counter culture or the culture itself which leads to negative judgments about women. Society has typically tried to dictate ideals of femininity, as it has ideals of masculinity and both of those ideals have led to a lot of negative judgments about women and men who don't fit into the box society made for them.

I think stuff like this is meant to be taken with a healthy sense of irony, but at the end of the day we need to ask whether talking openly about sex makes a woman a lesser person, because traditionally society has dictated that it does and I think that is wrong.

This song is obviously a bit extreme and goes for shock effect. Many would see it as tacky and inappropriate and I can see why.....but at the end of the day it's a response to overly rigid and inflexible standards of propriety - a catch cry for women to be less submissive. I see a healthy dose of parody in songs like this. It's not that different to gay people appropriating the term faggot in the 80s and 90s as a response to the word being weaponised against them.

Know what you're sayin but I ponder on the affect that has on young women, and even young girls, when seemingly sexualising all aspects of life. It's thrown around out there so blatantly and openly and must surely cloud and complicate life in the real world that these young people deal with?

What about Ty Dolla Sign he went to the trouble of spelling the symbol out for everyone. Granted he spelled it incorrectly but he gave it a crack though.

Yeah, I can see that side of the argument. It is pretty far over the top.....just saying at the end of the day it is a backlash to overly conservative ideals which have complicated the lives of women for a very long time. How many women have been smeared, judged and demeaned based on their own sexual choices or the results of them?

I’d be more concerned about the shit they are watching on pornhub warping their mind into what a woman is.

From the abstract of the 3rd article:

Findings showed that participants who viewed music videos of highly objectified female artists reported more adversarial sexual beliefs, more acceptance of interpersonal violence, and, at a level of marginal significance, more negative attitudes about sexual harassment than participants assigned to low-sexual objectifying music videos by the same female artists. Path models indicated that adversarial sexual beliefs mediated the relationship between condition, and (1) acceptance of interpersonal violence and (2) negative attitudes regarding sexual harassment.
Thanks Pyscho. Going to do some more research now.

I feel this issue is the same as violent video games...it breeds an acceptance of inhumane actions and some can handle it as just a game and with others personalities are deeply affected.

... Which gives me an idea for a thread.
True enough.

But this stuff, while not porn, is beamed into households are more easily and is more accessible.

Not a huge societal problem, but still, young kids have to grow up so quickly these days.

I guess bc I have a 9 year old granddaughter, I wonder what affect these influencers have on the shape of society...it doesn't seem a positive one to me :grinning:

But that's my point.

This does not help stop slut shaming.

For those living in Brissy, 4ZZZ is a great non commercial radio station. Can be streamed too. The daily programs are all different
for example tuesday early morning is punk "fishn in the morning" and not commercialized garbage either. Dirty filthy punk with current Oz bands promoted from around the country aswell as international. There is a gaming music program which I always find interesting, cant remeber the time slot. Alot of stuff that doesnt interest me but plenty that does. Thats the good thing about the station, something for everyone to choose from.

It's been debunked that violent video games make people violent, just like listening to heavy metal makes you a Satanist devil worshipper.

This song is from 2019 but I had to put it in here. Don't listen to it unless you don't mind being ear raped.

My 8 year old niece wanted this song for a CD I was making her and somehow I accidentally copied it onto my phone. While I was in the shower the song came on so I jumped out of the shower, covered in soap and water, just so I could turn the fucking thing off.....that's how bad it is. And yes, you guessed it, it's a fucking Beiber song

Enjoy :tonguewink:

It just shows that you don't have to have talent these days, just out-do the latest whore and try to claim the title of the dirtiest slut in music.
