I must have gone at the wrong time. We went to New York and it was like that. Everyone was friendly and it was just a great place.

In LA it was filthy, people were rude, we got harassed quite often. The drivers were nice though. No one honked no matter what. I asked a local about that and he said, "of course not. You only honk at someone in LA if you want to get shot"

Not sure how serious he was.

Last time I went was 2014.. I so regret not going to New York at that time but my kids wanted to go back to Disneyland because they were a bit little to really enjoy it last time. (was the last trip on my Qantas travel benefits)
I've been to New York but only for 3 days so didn't get a full experience .. Noticed though that people were more inclusive, and when we met them it was like heritage didn't exist.
Yknow like in Australia you'll ask where are you from and people will say they're Greek, Lebanese even though they were born here but it wasn't like that in New York

Definitely. There's a lot of pride in the New Yorkers. 9/11 really brought them all together. It removed much of the separation of races. Now they just see themselves as New Yorkers.

FYI. for 1000 years the 27% of the entire world's GDP belonged to the greater India. 27% of the world GDP is like the combined GDP of USA+ Europe. Got that right. Fishing, jet skiing, rooting and drinking. I lived in airlie for a few years when I was working up there. Best spot I've lived easy.
Was like being at a tennis game driving down the main st. Look left, look right. Need a rubber neck to take in all the sights. Backpackers are the best
