I think most popular beaches world wide are shite. A local example being Bondi. I went to Rio and all the main beaches are average as. Stayed with a mate a few kms down the strip and it was nice as, big beach split by a small mountain.
I might be going there at the end of the year. I haven't been to any of our islands yet.
