I think TBaz has got his man. Building upon that media report about his secret meeting with Smith in Melbourne, Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton recently followed Brandon Smith on Instagram and has liked his images from the last two weeks. There is a trend with Warbuton's Instagram as he followed Brent Naden a couple of days prior to his sgining.

Second, the Gold Coast Titans are set to announce the signing of Darryl Clark from the UK. We were interested in him and I am sure that Tbaz would've got his man if he wanted to especially with fellow Pom Luke Thompson at the club. That all but confirms that we have signed Brandon Smith pending an announcement.

This is huge for our rebuild and I think is the missing piece. Watch this space.

Ive said it before and I’ll say it again, Brandon Smith is not a first grade standard dummy half he is only another plodder middle forward at best! His fitness and skill levels do not justify him being a priority hooker signing nor our first choice option at dummy half. For his asking price I would rather just stick to JMK because B Smith offers nothing more than he other than a significantly larger price tag. We need a specialist dummy half not a player that’s been used for years at the Storm as a stop gap solution for Cam Smith while he’s on origin duties, then when Cam Smith retires the Storm still prefer to use Harry Grant instead of B Smith as first choice hooker, what does that say about how the Storm and Bellamy view Brandon Smith at hooker? A vote of no confidence if you read between the lines, no thanks Bellamy you can keep your high priced sloppy seconds mate!

I agree with everything you have said....he is not the hooker we need....overpriced because he has been in the storm system....we need a hooker who can dart out of dummy half and set up our forwards past the advantage line....a big no from me

Most of us are hoping this is the case, the fact that it’s clear now Harry is the starting 9 (we all knew this but I think B Smith needed to see it for himself) should force the hand. I’d be surprised if an announcement didn’t happen in the next week or two.
