I doubt the flu is the real reason and just a good excuse, its to much of a coincidence.
Too much a distraction with Trent going to get a decent training session in, give everyone a couple of days to soak up what's going on and regroup Wednesday.
Gus has been around a few sudden coach changes so should have a good idea how to handle the situation.
Agree. Lets them sit around and fully absorb the pathetic efforts they themselves, or their bumbling team mate, put in towards getting their coach sacked.
Whether he was an ineffective coach or not, these guys performances were third rate efforts in the very basics of the game and must bare a lot of the responsibility for the pathetic individual discipline, dropped ball and general numbskull footy nous shown.
Combination of everything just not being the cohesive playing and coaching operation required for success with poor results for all coaches, players and Admin at the Bulldogs.
But the players need to own their part in the terrible results and effort this year that have got us to this bad situation.
Two days of being out of the limelight, with their usual schedule disrupted, thinking about their crushed coach, won"t hurt any possible preparation for the next game which they were probably going to bumble and stumble their way to a loss anyway.
As Gus said ...after this Fridays game, the focus starts on the weekend towards appointments and deciding what the future looks like.
That better mean never, ever again accepting these inept, ill disciplined, bumbling, mistake riddled performances, without consequences, ever again for CB Bulldog players and it won't be an acceptable standard at this club ever again, for anyone, at all, within our Football Department.
