It's about 25-30%. The government puts a flat excise of 50 cents per litre. ScoMo reduced this temporarily when fuel prices were sky rocketing, but Albo won't do that.

The issue you have with fuel excise is that it is used for stuff. Reduce it, you're reducing Australia's economy in general. It's good to temporarily reduce it but it can't be done permanently without raising taxes.
