I'm assuming being off season people go missing from the kennel.

Bang on. The excess weight fees I’ve paid leaving Singers/KL have been for me, not my luggage :-).

This was one feast in KL a couple of years back:

BBQ Stingray wings are to die for, not to mention the satay and well, everything else :-).
I only spent four days there at the start of a three month trip that covered Malaysia, Thailand Laos Vietnam and Cambodia. Some of the ladies on the trip may have had dicks. But the food was incredible.

Laos and Vietnam are on my bucket list. My favourite food on earth. Also my favourite people, very friendly.

I'd hire a bike and cruise the whole country.

The Hairy Bikers on the food channel sold me, so did Anthony Bordain.
I used to love watching Anthony Bourdain's shows. Whether he was going around the USA or overseas, always had a good mix of food, culture, historical facts and info, places to see and presented it well. Felt like you were where he was at. Plus he was a top bloke who was pretty genuine. Shame he unfortunately passed away.

Laos in 2003 was a bit of an issue with getting money from ATM's. They had credit card facilities. But I had no credit card. Probably changed since then. But had to use the Australian embassy to get $100 to cross back into Thailand because I couldn't withdraw cash. Felt super rich there with a big was of local dollars, but it was a bit of a situation where the big wad of notes was enough to buy a packet of Mentos. Recommend taking a tube down the river at Luang prabang if you make it to Laos. Something very relaxing about floating in a tyre tube from beer vendor to beer vendor.

Vietnam wasn't my favourite part of the trip. War tours were interesting. But my favourite day there was in a town that specialises in stonework. Bought a nice handmade chess set there that I've never used. Can't recall the name of the place. But on one beach stop I paid about an Australian dollar for two plate sized crabs with some kind of spicy dipping sauce.

If you get to Vietnam don't miss out on visiting Cambodia. Angkor way is amazing and s21 prison and a tour of Siem reap are solemn experiences but are a sad reminder that humans are a **** of a species.

I have every season of every show he has made on a USB which I always take with me when I'm in hospital and rewatch them, never get bored of them.
