1. We finish 10th...challenging to make the 8 towards the end of the season falling short just as Dean Pay did in 1 of his years with an atrocious roster.
2. We finish with 7th best D.
3. Either TPJ is prop of the year or Kikau is 2nd rower of the year.

7th-9th. We make the tail of the 8 or maybe just get pipped by F/A. I think we play some great footy in patches and defend heaps better but still struggle for a good 7 and the "x factor" fullback until 24 comes around and Critta lobs. Xerri also arrives and if his form is anywhere near what he was before, our backline will be very saucy...

7 is still the big missing premiership piece..

I'll say 7th. Our form and results after Baz got fired would have had us as a top 8 team. With Ciraldo here, Mahoney, Kikau etc, a massive preseason under Touma as S&C coach and more improvement from the squad, I think this is finally the year we make the finals again.

11th

We miss the 8 by 4 points

7th best defence.

TPJ to play no more than 12 games through injury and suspension

Followed by another offseason of hope

Nah, if we consider the competition form from Round 11 (Potter's first game), not all that much changes.
* We would swap ladder position with Manly (#11 instead of #12);
* Sharks would be Minor Premiers;
* Raiders would be 4th;
* Storm would miss the 8;
* Dragons would be 8th;
* Rorters/Souths still play F1: 6v7 ;
* Brisbane still miss out (10th instead of 9th);
* Tigers still get the spoon.

I take the point, we played much better. We improved markedly but the results were still not there.

14 Wins made the finals in '22. So we need to double our wins this year (it's do-able).
I think we'll be around that 13-15 wins in '23 (that would have been good for 5th-9th last year).

I think anything outside the 8 isn’t a good season. Problem is we lack a game breaking 1 and a 7 in general.

If we have TPJ and King at prop then it gives us good balance with Thommo at 13. Our back row looks great. So if we stay healthy we definitely should win more then we lose. What the lack of a quality 1 and 7 will have? Hard to tell.

I think 2024 if we finish outside of the 6 it will be a failure aswell and depending who lines up at 7 we should be a top 4 Smokey.

Very hard to determine where will finish , it all depends on how good Ciraldo is . Right now it’s all good and well but when the pressure piles on , its a matter of how he reacts to it and gets the team to react .

If we had a experienced coach with good track record then their is nothing stopping us from clinching a top 8 spot .
Roster wise

Panther
Rooster
Shark
Storm ( based on spine only )
South ( not that much better on paper )
Cows ( not much better on paper )
Parra ( I’d say we close to them just spine edges)

Feel like the rest of the comp is close

My heart says 8th but my mind says
We will be premiers .
Kyle Flanagan to discover a running game and solve our 7 issue.
Dogs to go on a 8 game winning streak to entrench in top 4.

the rest is history
