Kitione Kautoga has to be a beast defensively tomorrow for me to be really invested in him as a future forward. If he leaks tries and plays lazy like he usually has then it will be hard to persist

I always said with a bit of hard work and mentoring hed be a cracking 13. The kid can hit, just cant read defence out wide. A lot more simple to defend in the middle, you just need good fitness. Could have been like a little Taumalolo.

I think he will end up at 13 eventually. And with his silky hands and hard running would do well. Was never cut out for 1st grade at centre, lack of speed and mobility and used to get carved up easily. Also a lot of brain fades, but has the ability to play 100+ NRL games if he works hard. No better system to be in to see if he will make it or not.
Unfortunately despite being young he's one of the kids we blooded too early because we had to. He obviously didn't want to drop back grades, so these aren't the type of losses we can be sad about. We as a club weren't ready for him, can't hinder the kids career, always better for him to look elsewhere given the year he had.

DSaf offered to take a cut for JSaf, but Knights turned it down as it's against the rules. Long term offer for JSaf made by them.

I meant to say at the panthers not with us :p lol

Like panthers or storm are the best system for him. We’d stuff him up more

Because with very few exceptions players from the UK make great Ron Massey Cup players.

e.g Ryan Sutton, paying him way more than his talent level.

I hope Gus has learned his lessons. By never pay big money for Englishman again.

*Unless they are proven in the NRL.
This is a myth. It’s a player by player basis.
Are they good due to their work ethic or because of the extra space/defensive mindset of the esl?
Yes, many fail. More in the sense they don’t add big value as opposed to playing well.
But let’s look at the facts.
Possibly best Center in the NRL- English
Possibly best winger in the NRL- English
John Bateman - 2nd rower of the year in his first season
Burgess brothers. Sam would make the best nrl team of the decade
Gareth Ellis - tigers legend
Elliott whitehead - raiders legend
George Williams- one of the best halves in the nrl when here
Adrian Morley - roosters legend
Josh Hodgson- top 3 nrl hooker upon arrival until 2/3 years ago

And let’s not forget the kennels favourite ever bulldog forward - James Graham !

Not sure what else England needs to do to convince ppl. It’s a relatively big pool of players.
There are guns there that would be earmarked for future nrl success
Everyone’s chasing Jack welsby for example

PS. Let’s not forget St Helen’s beat Penrith this year yo.
You can argue they weren’t cooked sure, but you can’t say they didn’t want the world title because they ass was in tears after the game.
And undercooked or not u can’t tell me Penrith lose to a NSW cup team ever

England just pumped Tonga leb style who were almost at full strength, with a team missing Williams, Dom Young, Herbie, Pearce Paul, Dodd, Walmsley. Wardle and Percival.

Tonga had players like Fonua Blake and some genuine stars u know and no one says their shiy excpet spine

Prolly twenty big boppers in the CRL who could be trained up, it will be filled.
What was wrong with Seumanfagai being trained to run harder?

Bunty Afoa could be an option. There were reports the Warriors were going to let him look around the same as Curran. Seems Daniel Saifiti wants to stay at the Knights if he's offering to take a haircut so the club can retain his bro. Article said they want to play out their career together. Would the Knights let them both leave ? Doubt it but hey stranger things have happened. How are they for props ?

McLean staying at Cowboys
To be fair he is pobs past it, but we are desperate and there is just nothing on the market now. It seems to be getting worse now with the extra QLD team, not just because of another team needed 30+ players but QLD players seem to be even more reluctant to leave and desperate to go back now that there are more QLD options.
