ESL have filled up their quota. His best years are behind him, might have to settle for a contract outside the top 30. Top 5 winger in the comp prior to his injuries, impossible to tackle.

Wow, talk about a fall from grace. Went from being their best winger to someone who reportedly can't even pass a beep test and they now can't get rid of.

He should have stayed at the storm and tigs should have made his loan deal permanent

@Flanagun this in a funny way proves you were right that Gus had no legs to stand on with RFM or he would have been slapped with a termination notice.
@Polly Power did not break any forum rules in the post. Would be a silly report and waste of forum moderator resources

Taking a thread off topic to denigrate someone's reputation is a reportable offence.

@04 Dreaming you have reported people for much less.

All the abuse directed at me means many more face a holiday before I would.

Benji cops so much crap on here he’s a rookie coach like Ciraldo unlike Ciraldo he’s a club legend, won a premiership at that club and since the removal of the chairman and recruitment manager has complete control. Ciraldo doesn’t even sign the players.

Benji was able to issue a termination and breach notice on Nofo which is something we had no legs on with RFM otherwise he would have been gone with a settlement.

Polly explain how being a club legend and winning a premiership translates to being a great NRL coach? Terry Lamb was the former but a poor coach. Geoff Toovey likewise. Others proved being a good player doesn’t make you a good coach eg: Trent Barrett.

Benji doesn’t at all have ‘complete control’ over his roster - but he does have a say - same as Ciraldo does as part of the recruitment and retention committee along with Gus and Peter Sharp. We’ll wait here…

Bunji;s big advantage currently is he has Shane Richardson, acting in GM Football style of role, who is one smart operator with lots of NRL experience. His contract is only 6 months, be interesting to see whether he sticks around. His decision may depend on whether or not the NRL will look at the Firehawks as a team for the planned expansion, if it does then he will head home.

Agreed Richardson is good and the best thing the Tigtanic have had management wise probably since their inception. I’d be surprised if he stays in Sydney long term - at 67 he’s either ready for the ‘right’ longer term gig as you mentioned or he slows down. Concord is a short term opportunity/payday that makes sense for all. But Benji doesn’t have complete control roster wise, even with Fulton gone - no-one at the WT ever has and that’s been part of the problem: constant meddling of various interests trying to empire build.

You don’t even know that the club wanted to part ways with RFM, so again this is pure conjecture. RFM himself privately admitted that he didn’t aim up in 2023 - so any ‘discussions’ during this pre-season were likely to ensure alignment for the leadership role, especially with such a large batch of recruits. Pointless to even compare anything else going on at any other club too, but who’s surprised - I doubt many :-).

No one takes you seriously. You constantly talk agenda driven shit. I’ve been on here for over a decade and you are by far the most annoying poster
