I don't find any issues with democracy but the way its done now is an utter farce which can harm an uneducated population as we have seen around the world when, especially you allow for others to make decisions on your behalf that don't fit the current community situation or when a ruling body comes into power via the greater vote and fuck shit up that would've benefited the public(liberal party as usual).

I myself am inclined towards the left and more so into the socialist/marx side but obviously with some tweaks to the definite definition them both, I can't stand this modern day left bullslhit people have created as it all becomes this PC, allow gender changing, support gay people and god knows what else shit which is not important for the community in my eyes as there are much tougher and proper social issues to tackle.

I still don't understand why we had this waste of time and money postal vote on gay marriage rubbish rather than maybe asking the population what they would like to see done with the so called budget or decisions like tolling the M4 for 50 years or cutting funding to schools/unis or rebuilding waste of time jobs for the boys sports stadiums...

I guess freedom is an agreed upon notion..we agree not to steal from shops..to protect the shop owner and their freedom to earn a living.. That’s how people form a society..so there’s gotta to be an agreement..so we can function together..

As for mental institutions..well look here..we have places like Callen Park..Ryde Hospital..closed down all for government land grabs.. People who need help are getting turned away again.. It’s a vicious cycle..
Some people have lost the meaning of caring for your fellow man, that's what money and capital does to I guess...

They're still behind. Russia will never be a real superpower. They like to pretend they are but realistically they're a country with large sections in poverty with no real advantages that happens to have a large land mass.

China is still far behind the US too. They have potential but the US is still too large.

If the US collapses (and they will eventually), the whole world will follow. China's influence on the global economy is about 8%. The US influence on the global economy is about 60%. If China collapsed it would require a reshuffle of some assets. If the US collapsed it would be the end of the world.

Your first bit described America pretty well tbh, they also have large sections of people living in poverty or on the poverty line plus many many social and emerging economic issues

Russia has Europe by the balls via their gas line if they really want to push it and Russia still does have all that oil they could flood the market cheaply plus other stuff they most likely have left classified as they do have some brilliant minds in that country

Then you have China with all the technology, man power, manufacturing and what not they have left classified

The only reasons I see America has all this power is because of how many dumb western nations have only agreed to trade with them or buy oil from them exclusively plus their “war on terror” fronts to attain assets from nations illegally cough cough which has put them on the front

I think once western nations start to realize that staying onboard this sinking ship is bad the power will shift before an end of the world scenario, but with our western leaders they probably will go down with the sinking ship lol

There are a lot of ifs and buts though I do believe Russia or China do have the possibility to become that new power due to what they have already especially if people start to remove the US from their business plans and probably if others can secure the Saudi oil and any offshore resources America uses

Time will tell I guess

60%? FMD!

Surely China's influence would be growing while Murika is decreasing?

I wonder if we will jump to China's lap dog instead of the US?

It is. US used to be 80% of the market influence.

The problem is that China has a huge population but a lot GDP per person and they don't have a huge influence on the global market. They also don't export vital resources. Their primary export is machinery and junk items (toys and crap like that)

The US exports are food, oil, military items. Anyone can make military items but food and oil is a more scarce resource and harder to be made by another country.

Side note, Australia also has a large stake in the global market due to our coal. But with coal losing favouritism we are losing influence and there's a decent chance the Australian economy will be in strife very soon.

I'm talking about estimated total market influence. Not world market exports.

For example, Australia is 1.67% of the global market, but our influence is around 0.5% and the only reason it's so high is because China needs our coal and live exports and the US allows us to have some influence.

The US have a large amount of exports and unlike China, those exports are vital resources so they affect the market more. US backs this up with military power which prevents any other country from carrying out certain trade agreements that may not work well for the US economy.

It also includes US based companies that don't necessarily have all their items included in US GDP. An example is Apple. A multinational company who's money is in many countries but they are US based.
