On the bench for the Titans game, unbelievable !, he should be starting and playing the full 80 minutes.
Even more so after our forwards performance at the weekend.
What was the point in bringing him over early?
to humiliate him maybe
No wonder he’s pissed off

The team isn’t named until later today.
Where did you see this?

From previous posts he appears to know him somehow. Didn’t respond to a question about whether it was just coaching staff or maybe players as well that pissed him off..

Only way he can prove them wrong is on the field and that might mean have a great game off the bench and show what he's got. That way he's first picked next week.

There's talk he has a stand offish attitude.

Balls in his court. C'mon Thommo we all want you to do well.

Come on Thomo, some of us are hoping you will be the next captain after Jacko, can't see anyone else suitable for the job at this stage.

He should have started his career in the NRL off the bench tbh.

Throwing him into the starting was a massive mistake. He was not ready for the NRL. But hey, Dean Pay knew best didn't he.

His first game was his best
True, against a shit house Broncos team.

The week to week physical and mental demand of NRL is different to ESL. If we had a better structure and leadership at the team we would have protected him as opposed to throwing him in the deep end lol.

As great as James Graham was, he spend a season coming off the bench. Took Sam Burgess a year before he settled in. Sam even said himself, Thompson will find it challenging to adapt. It's a different ball game here especially for a middle forward. The fitness level required is different.

True they are shit but would you prefer their forward pack to ours?
The off season will be good for him and he’ll get used to living here, even if he is subjected to more of a nanny state than the rest of us with the NRL bubble.
I personally would’ve given him a couple of games off the bench like Sonny will probably do but also don’t blame anyone for rushing the big recruit in when we were desperate to save the season

They maybe trying to get some impact out of him rather than use him for the entire 80? Maybe he is in need of a rest without a full off season under his belt? It certainly won't hurt to try something different.

On paper yes. He aimed up to TPJ, he showed what his potential is with that game.

Agree off season will be great for him. He should have been off the bench for the whole of this season. Just a stupid decision by Pay.

I agree. He did have his job on the line though and needed instant results. I don’t think Thompson will be so one dimensional next season

If I am going to be honest, I haven't been happy with his performances as of late and I am worried that this may be another waste of money. Hopefully under Barrett and a slighlty better a team next year, he performs. However I am just concerned that we haven't had any value of money from him.

Fair enough mate. I’ll give him an off season and time to settle in and make my mind up then

Can't believe he was even rested, he must of been exhausted, so many people are counting on him.

I don't mind Thompson on the bench, I just want to see him playing at least 50 minutes, I haven't liked how he's been used all year, usually in one big stint and not finishing the game. The best forwards start and finish the game.

He probably has a sore back from carrying the forward pack and fan expectations of being the new Messiah
