That and they cost over $5000If you want a smaller dog that isn't super small then get a cavoodle. Only bad thing about them is seperation anxiety so be on that from the start.

Does your JR dig up the garden?Jack Russell TBH. Some can be hyper, but other than that they are fairly low maintenance re hair, medical issues etc.
Smaller dogs eat less, take smaller craps, and physically more manageable and you don't have to upgrade to a bigger car to take them anywhere.
JRTs also have the heart of a larger dog when required, like George here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_(dog)
I think retrievers and labs are great with kids, just a bit bigger (depends on your backyard, lifestyle etc).
I think Jack Russells can get bored easily, and therefore dig, but mine is cross bred with something or other that seemed to take all if he negative traits of the breed out of him. He's not a natural digger, but leave him alone long enough, he'll give it a try. Small dogs can also squeeze into some pretty small spots, so you will need to make sure every possible gap in the fence is closed off.Does your JR dig up the garden?
All dogs dig when they are bored, though there are some breeds that dig because its in their nature to dig!
I have found a JR x Fox Terrior, which sound like an interesting mix
Maybe look for a foxie doxie (lol it's a real thing). Mini fox terrier X Dachshund.Does your JR dig up the garden?

i don't get the point of a daschound. Yappy, can't walk properly for more than a few hundred metres. health issues. Neighbors behind me have two and they have zero redeeming qualities.Maybe look for a foxie doxie (lol it's a real thing). Mini fox terrier X Dachshund.
Why are those french bulldogs so expensive?i don't get the point of a daschound. Yappy, can't walk properly for more than a few hundred metres. health issues. Neighbors behind me have two and they have zero redeeming qualities.
Not as bad as a pug/french bulldogs i guess. Those poor things just go around sounding like they're having a permanent asthma attack... hehe,
Hey my pug will fight you she just needs to be able to see which way you are coming from which I admit she might have trouble withi don't get the point of a daschound. My sister paid like 9k for hers, bargainWhy are those french bulldogs so expensive?
I saw one on gumtree asking $25k for it?!
There's no point to a lot for dogs other than just looking cute. Some people are trying to correct the breeds, think they're using Jack Russells for Pugs to fix their face and doing similar with French Bulldogs.i don't get the point of a daschound. I got a staffy female, stubborn as an ox to train but affectionate, they like to sunbake and get cancer on their teatsAlways loved staffies (Staffordshire Bull terriers). Only the English variety though. They're a beautiful breed that'll love the whole family.
Probably just threw all the staffies in under pitbulls lol.I love this little stat, staffys don’t even make the list and look where labs/retriever’s land ! Just goes to show there is a big difference between perception and reality when it comes to dogs as reflected by the comments in this thread around those breeds.
