Damn that is awesome... and to think I was stoked with my stock standard 2012 SS Thunder ute. Changed the exhaust on it but that is about it for now. The Mrs is pregnant with our first kid so chances of having any money to do much more any time soon is gonna be limited but still good fun to drive.

My dad on the other hand has a Dodge Challenger hellcat. That thing is an absolute weapon and sounds absolutely insane!!
I would kill for a hellcat. Like, literally kill. Just name the target.

Side note: (If the CIA, NSA, ASIO are listening, I'm obviously kidding. If you're not listening then I'm not kidding. Just give me the target already)

I LOVE the Hellcats. Love the SRT's too.

PS they will be coming soon to Aus to compete with the Mustang and upcoming Corvette and Camaro (since there are no more Holden V8's)

PS congrats and all the best for your bub
Yeah apparently the latest is they won’t be out till 2020 Dad has been wanting one since I came home from the states and told him how I had met a guy who took me for a spin in one. He was gonna wait but got sick of waiting and found this one cheap a few months ago so he bought it!!

P.S thanks man appreciate that!!

I have a Volvo sitting in my driveway that is the same. The stereo is worth at least $400 but I'd be lucky to get $200 for the car at the scrap dealers. So far I've been too lazy to strip the stereo out and sell the hunk of junk to the scrap dealer.

When i get back on my feet (Inshallah) i will definatley dump a blower on it.
I'm going to hold you to that. If you die without installing a blower on the Commodore then you don't go to car heaven. You go to another, not so good heaven.

@Boxer You can get them in Australia, but they are a private import. Crossover Conversions are bringing ONE private imported Dodge Demon in :D

You've heard of the Dodge Demon, Chev has the Exorcist. 1000hp off the lot

https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.maxim.com/.amp/rides/hennessey-exorcist-camaro-2017-4
Hennessy is doing an upgrade to the Demon, reckons he can get it to (or over) 1500hp.

...

Me .. I don't have any fast toys myself, but am a HUGE motorsport fan. Have done a fair bit of rallying in the past and used to work for an experience provider teaching people how to drive the cars, and taking them on "hold on and dont shit your pants" laps :D

So I follow:
Formula 1 - (visited Melb a few years back).
Drag Racing - been to WSID more times than I can recall, and have a friend with a few VERY quick cars (I'm talking 5-6 second beasts).
World Rally Championships - (been to Coffs WRC about 5 times now).
Various circuit racing events

One day I plan to move to America and the first thing I'm getting is a Pontiac Firebird. It will be my first of many cars, but there will be many dodges in my collection

I actually almost brought one many years ago. Took it for a test drive and was set to buy it but unfortunately something ended up happening and i needed the money. I was so set on being the Bandit (Smokey and the Bandit, the whole reason why i wanted this car) They had $9000 on it at the time if i remember correctly. Exactly the same as the picture.

Really cause they said it won’t be allowed cause of carbon fibre parts on the car which is illegal in Australia.

Hmmmm very interesting.
There has been a few cars that won’t allowed in Australia due to there power and not passing emissions,
Great example is that he wrx 22b
There's actually a really odd loophole. You can't import a car if it has too much power or is less than 25 years old and is Left Hand Drive except if that car is considered a rare car (less than 3000 units produced per year)

The Demon has 3300 units produced but it will likely still be considered rare as it's a limited release, not a yearly release.

Of course getting it registered for road use is a completely different matter.

Mate of mine whose family have driven rally cars / competed in rallies for years (his dad used to rally in the UK) wanted to import in a Group B Ford RS200. That fell through due to red tape so they bought a Lancia Delta S4 instead. They don't rally as much anymore (life constraints), but have hillclimb/rally cars (RS2000 Escort and Datto 1600).

His dads previous competition car was an EVO6 with a batshit crazy antilag system on it. That car was absolutely mental.

...

One car I wouldn't mind getting if I had the money is an older (non modded) WRX, or even a Lancer VR4/GSR/early EVO.

The EVO 2 and 3 and the VR4 actually drive really nicely for their age.
