Penrith signed a majority of squad with bonuses for finals rep games etc etc much like current and most teams do. What they didnt count on was winning the comp and having a ****load of players which they had to pay alot extra for due to rep commitments etc. Throw in with the asking value of each player going up

They also ended up having players on crazy salaries because they didnt count on them making alot of these bonuses and signed the majority of the squad when they were languising

What the hell does all this mean. Can someone with communication skills translate this for me?

What has it to do with PERFORMANCE BONUSES? ie You get a bonus if you or the team PERFORMS. WTF it has to do with rep footy etc i dont know.

Thanks DogNauseous : Firstly - WOW. Secondly - Couldn't care less about Penrith so there would have been NO way I would've ever known that ! I'm going to have to re-think that bonuses idea, but maybe .....

..... Dognacious .... with your input, perhaps you can help me clarify, what you percieve the difference is between bonuses that are 'team related' VS 'individual related' - It also hadn't occured to me that 'bonuses' could come in different varieties.

There will be more players available when clubs review their rosters at the end of the year and they look at how much money they have in the cap....
I think we wil be okay as long as we snap up the right players..we need doers, not super stars. It is obvious 'superstars' are not the type of players we need at the bulldogs....e.g. mason, williams etc...

holdsworth is being released but no one will take him lol, so we are stuck with him for next year unfortunately, but he wont play first grade or get a contract for 2010
