Why does The Guardian, SMH, Telegraph all target Canterbury. Ever time there is an article about money from poker machines going to NRL clubs they target Canterbury. Panthers, Parra, Newcastle, Saints, Roosters, Tigers nah, only the Dogs. What is the hatred, maybe race.

We just have to quietly go about assembling the team that wins our next premiership. Fuck the media. They've hardly proven to be the bastion of morality in recent years. So I don't give a crap if they're happily implying we've got no moral compass by using tax breaks available to us.

Once upon a time pubs and clubs were a great source of sponsorship for country league. Seems like there's no incentive these days for them to do it. As for us, I can't see the funds drying up if the football club needs it even if the tax breaks are shut off.

i’d be curious to see the figures from parramatta leagues for example which is bigger and located right next to their brand new stadium compared to our leagues club

The leagues club exists because of gambling.

I can remember when the club bought the old picture theatre at Belmore. It was a humble start, but look at it now. That didn't come about because of the football earnings, or the local community. It grew because it enticed people from all over the city who love to gamble by offering them a top class facility with easy access, away from the CBD, options for good dining, entertainment, fitness - all designed to bring in the income from gamblers.

Let me guess, do these pillars of social morality genuinely believe that 26 million only goes to the first-grade NRL team?
Do they not realise the greater good that money does for the Canterbury Bankstown community, with development and pathways, and now a halves clinic?
That money very likely is exclusively spent on evolving our community-level teams and supporting development in representative and junior teams.
Let us not forget it no doubt would fund the female teams whilst at it!

We used to sponsor the local league team until they played up one too many times, and mouthed off to a Board member.. now we sponsor AFL, hockey, cricket, touch footy, soccer, cricket, lawn bowls, horse racing… and not just teams.. some of those are to sponsor the comp and they wouldn’t exist without us… if club grants finishes we will still do it, it’s why we are here. The biggest concern if there’s talk that the govt will just take the money and decide who gets it

I think Mt. Pritchard and Panthers are more profitable, but we're in the top 3 for sure.

Yep. The Lakemba mosque is in the Dogs' heartland, and many still carry grudges about our area's reaction to the Cronulla riots - and will never forget the cap rort and Coffs Harbour.

I still have people asking me if I'm frightened, living in the Canterbury Bankstown area.
