Pretty sure he would consider himself a loser if he owned three old Holdens... three old Fords on the other hand! Winning!Ha Ha they would be worth a fortune, pity 95% of the Kennel aint gonna get the joke
Is this kid a ball playing FB?
He plays a lot of positions in the spine - he never shuts up on the field when fbIs this kid a ball playing FB?
i wouldnt put much value into news reports etc describing young players as - highly rated, guns, stars etc - much of the hype comes from agents etc. Most clubs wouldn't want their better juniors to be on the radars of other clubs nor to have the pressure of hype. So much needs to go right for a player to progress to fg - even more needs to go right for them to star at that level. When was the last time we had this many highly rated youngsters and junior Kangaroos? Gus is planting the seeds for the future by signing these kids early before they are worth crazy money. Papalii is very talented and hopefully keeps progressing to make it to FG in the next few years.
Couldn't agree more, if you have Stan Sport check out Mitchell Woods in the NSW Waratahs under 16s side playing fullback. Best on ground vs QLD.When was the last time we had this many highly rated youngsters and junior Kangaroos? I don't have Stan Sport but sounds promising. I love that Gus is looking at junior Rugby too which is what previous admins and scouts have neglected for years. Some of the best rep stars these days had a background in Rugby at some stage.Couldn't agree more, if you have Stan Sport check out Mitchell Woods in the NSW Waratahs under 16s side playing fullback. Plays Swans Academy, Tahs and was 5/8 for Harold Matts last year playing a year young. Recently won a scholarship for education through the dogs and attends St Pats in Strathfield.
Of course, but the difference is a lot of the talent we've signed in the last year or so are some of the best in their age group that most clubs were after. Which is a stark contrast to the previous ten years or so. Of course only a small percentage will pan out as that is the nature of junior footy and if they can progress to FG.i wouldnt put much value into news reports etc describing young players as - highly rated, guns, stars etc - much of the hype comes from agents etc. Most clubs wouldn't want their better juniors to be on the radars of other clubs nor to have the pressure of hype. Looks like he actually wants the ball
Even last year there was an obvious improvement in the on field performances of the age rep sides - still behind the top clubs but encouraging - many years ago the Dogs was the go to club if a junior wanted to be well coached, well looked after.Of course, but the difference is a lot of the talent we've signed in the last year or so are some of the best in their age group that most clubs were after. But at least Gus is giving us more high upside options than we've had in previous years. Eventually some will make it to FG and we'll reap the benefits in a few years.
That's why he gets baby RTS comparisons in terms of style of play (not on talent). His stepping ability is crazy. Breaks defenders ankles when he's running the ball.My knees hurt watching that stepping.
Sure. A long way to go. But if he was voted player's player for the Australian Schoolboys, that alone would make him one of best prospects in his age group. And a young 'star'.i wouldnt put much value into news reports etc describing young players as - highly rated, guns, stars etc - much of the hype comes from agents etc. Most clubs wouldn't want their better juniors to be on the radars of other clubs nor to have the pressure of hype.
