Given the major shake up coming at the end of the year, the club going for the big 4 (now big 2) , Cronk, Foran all up for grabs, key off-contracted bulldog player's future is in the limbo and they are un certain about next years at dogs, surely this will make a lot of players go down in moral and wont play with intensity as they will feel hard done by the club.

I am talking about players like Hoppa, Liccha, Reynolds, Graham who play key positions and for them to not put 100% given their contract situation , this year is going to be another downer and a write off.

Then I wonder how much effort and passion they will put in

This year is about weeding out a few players
Recruiting for next year
And possibly trying out existing players in lower grades and in current first grade to see how they fit depending on who we sign

All eyes are on next year I think

I'm almost convinced that the club know this and have given Des this year to get his squad in order

Last year shouldn't of been a write off but the mood wasn't right, they never appreciated the opportunity or believed they could do it, despite being in two recent GF's, its all in the mind.

Professional footballers go out and do their jobs irrespective of all the contract hype, if anything, they probably go even harder if they fall in that "unknown" space and needing to attract interest for another contract elsewhere.
