Sorry to hear the latest about Lili...

Can't wait till we sort all this shit out with Germany, I really can't be fucked for the doctors and hospitals in this country anymore. Unless they're forcing a drug down your throat, they don't give shit about actually helping.
Actually England isn't that flash either. Grandfather in the UK needs an MRI to determine if he has early stages of Alzhemiers.... 6 MONTH (not weeks MONTHS) wait to get an MRI and the results, as they only have 2 in that area of England. Apparently few and far between.

Germany... it's healthcare system is bursting at the seams because it welcomed half the worlds refugees with open arms (and now it's backfired).

Only reason they probably don't want to do a flush, is because if there is a tear, effectively they could be flushing saline solution straight into the brain/brain cavity/sinus cavity.

....

On another note you can get purified oxygen tanks out here.

Thank you brother, really means alot knowing I can come here knowing I have support no matter what time it is.
I'm just really frustrated because I just can't understand how they limit us in Australia to all the treatments being used by every other country.

Did you guys know that there's a treatment used in other countries by the form of purified oxygen tanks, we exports it to other countries that use it to treat many things, but for some reason it's nearly impossible to find a place that sells it here... My mum's had to by it from America and have it shipped here at 5times the price because they charge ridiculous amounts to shipping back to fucking Australia!
I know what you mean. When I had my defibrillator installed, they only had one lead from the device to my heart, which is only used to shock my heart. There is another lead that they COULD of installed which may increase my heart function. That lead costs 120k, obviously Medicare doesn't cover it but my private health fund covers it and they still wouldn't install it. We even offered to pay it in cash and for some fucked up reason they said no and wouldn't give me a reason why.

When it's time to upgrade the defib, I am going to get the op in Mexico WITH that second lead for 20k US.

I love Australia but the medical system we have is fucking stupid.

My mum and her friends have searched everywhere, they haven't been able to find anywhere in Aus, do you know where we can purchase it here?

Don't stress brother, sometimes the best things in some situations don't require words, the fact that I know your all here means more than the world to me... and I fucking love all of you!!!!!

Today her temp went up quite a few times, It's most likely her body fighting the infection because we've been able to bring it down pretty quickly with childrens Panadol. Late in the evening she let us hold her and sit with us while we played some games which was a good sign. I guess the antibiotics are working now, because recently she's been really aggressive and has been lashing out due to her ear pain, but she was happy and calm today, she even gave me a hug, I haven't received a hug from her in so long, I can't even describe the joy it brought me, I didn't want to let go.

Posting this on 1EE if you don't mind.
Talk to jimmypop over there about Dr Tio.
http://www.1eyedeel.com/forum/topics/give-jimmy-a-hand
Cheers Sir Col,

Jimmy and I have spoken previously through PM, really really nice guy, it's shattering that these things happen to the best of people.

On another note, may I say that your post highlights what this club and forum is all about.
We know how tough it must be for you right now losing a good mate, yet you take the time to tend to other people's needs and help those you have never met.
I'm not too proud to admit it brought a tear to my eyes.

Thank you for shining a little light on the dim world we live in today.

It's been a tough week or so, she's had an ear infection for a while now. She has some kind of fluid mixed with blood coming out of her right ear, my mum took her to the doctor who told her to go to the childrens hospital and see a specialist as general practitioners don't have the required tools to wash out and check deep inside an ear to see if there's a tear or infection for children.
My mum called the hospital and the women on the phone told her that Lili's doctor is on holidays and he's booked out when he gets back so she'll just have to put up with it for a few weeks....... ( I nearly choked when she told me. What kind of a fucking hospital tells a child who has puss/fluid+blood constantly coming out of their ear to put up with it for a few weeks?)

My mum returned to the GP and was told to take Lili straight to emergency. So she did.... Even though the GP specifically told them to wash out the ear and check for a tear, my mum was forced to sit there for hours on end and all she got was a prescription for antibiotics.
They didn't bother flushing the ear out to give her some relief and to be able to see if there is a tear even though the GP (who also specialized in oncology) specifically requested they do so. So, as my mum so simply put it, "the way we went in, is the same way we came out".

Now really, this has pissed me off because we assured my family the hospital down here would take great care of her if they moved down to Melb if Lili ever needed to go there as I only take my children there and they haven't been too bad, but it turns out they're no different to every other hospital that doesn't want to waste time on kids/adults who are on palliative care.

They told her to to just take the medication and wait. If it clears up, then it was an infection, otherwise there's a tear.
What gets me is, why not flush it out and see instantly rather than force her to put up with it.
It's not like it's a long and expensive procedure to flush out a fucking ear!

I don't get it. Can't wait till we sort all this shit out with Germany, I really can't be fucked for the doctors and hospitals in this country anymore. Unless they're forcing a drug down your throat, they don't give shit about actually helping.
I apologize for not checking in on this thread over the last week and when I do I see this!

Absolutely disgraceful.

Where is the compassion?

It should matter not one little bit that Lili is on palliative care. For heaven's sake they should be going out of their way to do whatever they can to make it easier for her, not treat her as if she is a bother or not worth the effort.

Unbelievable telling your Mum that Lili would have to wait for weeks on end for proper treatment ( asked for by another Doctor no less) for something that must be causing so much pain and discomfort. Have they never thought of the idea of seeing just who is available that could have a look and give a definitive answer or do we simply have to think that it is pure bad luck that someone needs treatment while their regular Dr is on holidays? Do they understand what this is doing to Lili and the family?

Keep us informed as to her progress and know that even though others don't seem to care we do.

Bro, that smile shows she isn't helpless, she is a fighter and obviously has a loving and supporting family in her corner.

I'm cheering her on! We all are.

Even though she's helpless and can't do anything for herself, the fact she smiles through all her pain still amazes me and makes me cry.
It would have been selfish of me not to post this photo for everyone to see that gorgeous little smile after all the support and love we've received from everyone.
It made my day, I hope it gives everyone else a little joy as well.

My heart hurts but is smiling looking at that pic.

We have had a rough few days, we needed to see an angel smile.

Thank you for sharing brother. She is my inspiration for my battle.

I know what you mean brother, I'm a massive softie when it comes to kids.

That's one of the main reasons why I HATE going to the transplant clinic in St Vincent's. I can't handle seeing the kids there. It rips me apart and I'm not too proud to admit I cry like a girl.

PS Sorry for the mini hijack, I meant no disrespect.

You don't need a new heart, the one you have is perfect, no matter what any doctor says.
It works better than most peoples in this world, you show this with your love and compassion everyday.

I have no doubt at all, that if each of us could give you a piece of ours, there wouldn't be a single person who would hesitate.
