If he's that promising he'll be wrapped up by the Broncos. Probably just his manager trying to get the most coin out of his contract.
Won’t sign with them his family doesn’t like the style of play he needs un structured club that what they are looking for

Well that rules us out then. We play with more structure and block plays with props as halves than we did under Des!

A Bronco with strong bloodline

The Roosters and Bulldogs lead the race in the hunt for the hottest halfback prospect in years - Queensland sensation Sam Walker.

Half a dozen clubs are chasing Walker, who is still only 16, throwing offers of around $200,000 a year at him - big money for an untried kid.

But the son of former Manly, Souths and Broncos utility Ben Walker is believed to have narrowed the field down to two - the Bulldogs and Roosters.

The Bulldogs are offering the biggest pay cheque - but the Roosters have power and influence and see the teenager as the long-term successor to Cooper Cronk at number seven.

Walker is contracted to the Broncos this year but will move on following the club's decision to show faith in another teenager, Tom Deardon.

The Bulldogs have joined the Knights in the hunt for talented Sharks hooker Jayden Brailey.

With younger brother Blayke signing a long-term deal to remain at the Sharks, 23-year-old Jayden seems certain to be on the move.

The Knights are favourites to pick up his services but Canterbury are set to put in a strong bid for the youngster.

The Bulldogs have had problems with the hooking role for several seasons, with Michael Lichaa not living up to the hype and youngster Jeremy Marshall-King filling in at number nine this season with only mixed success.

Brailey is contracted to the Sharks until the end of 2020 but has been given permission to negotiate with rival NRL clubs in recent weeks.

Newcastle are offering Brailey a rich three-year deal but the Dogs have money to spend as well, and the extra carrot of allowing the hooker to keep living in his home town of Sydney.

Brailey would be a good signing. He's very underrated and doesn't have any flaws in his game. Reminds me of a young Cam Mcinnes, with probably more attacking ability.

Id be very happy if we were to bag him.
Last line is very true, he's from my junior club in the shire.
We know several dogs players live(d) in the shire during their time at the dogs, easy done.

But, but, you ask Mrs Klemmer and you will be told that Newcastle offers SO much more....

I despair that we will never get any of these up and comers to our club..too many issues, with us I mean...

IF, by some miracle, he actually chose us over the Rorters, he'll only be able to start playing FG in 21-22. If he sticks with it.

Probably the best chance of signing him would be to bring his Dad/uncle on board to coach...I have serious reservations about their ability to actually coach in the NRL, but it can't be worse than the water torture we are enduring atm.

Can see where this is heading...he'll sign with the Knights, we'll sign Levi for overs who'll under perform.

We could sign Cronk, Ponga, Cook, and Nelson Asofa-Solomona and it wouldn;t make a difference all the whilst Pay has lost the dressing rooom.

Both those quotes are from NRL Lurker recycling rumours from the last month odd.

Was thinking the same thing, we’re being linked to these young guys, but so far have 0 to show for it.

Seems like this could be the strategy though, targeting young up and comers who are on the fringe - pay more and offer a quicker path to first grade?

Mmmm

The kid was 15 and now 16 and playing in the u,18 Comp and is leading try scorer and assists. Will be in first grade before then guaranteed, they have massive wraps on this kid I hope he comes here.
