anyone that doesnt know what Katoa is capable of please watch the tongan invitational vs the GB Lions - he sets up a great try!!
The issue isn't so much what he's capable of, the issue is the poor decision making, erratic style of play and overall sloppiness to his game that makes up the bulk of his play.

How do you guys know for certain that we didn't go after ........insert your player choice here ........... and they took a better offer (in their opinion) to stay where they were or move elsewhere.

With depth of 2nd rowers, wouldn’t we be better off with an 80min hooker and carry an extra forward? Whoever has the quality and stamina to cover 80 gets the 9 with the other playing the lower grades.
You still need to carry a utility though. If you sufder a HIA to an outside back and only have a forward to cover, then you will struggle.

This is my concern too. From what I saw in the game against Canberra he was all over the show. It was very Lichaa-esk.

I dont want a hooker that does 1 good thing for every 10 idiotic things. People here will see 1 thing "flashy" and overlook all the rubbish.

Get used to it because that's exactly what Katoa does.

I'm perfectly OK with giving JMK more game time at hooker, he improved so much during last season and worked hard in the off season that he has earned the chance.
On Katoa, he has the skills and instinct to be a pretty decent NRL quality hooker, consistency is sometimes the missing ingredient. Someone with skills and instinct has far more chance than someone who is consistent but lacks the skill and instinct to play hooker. Katoa is only 25 which is about the same age as Cook was when he blossomed as a hooker, it's not like he's too old to build consistency. Plus it's not like he is soaking up a lot of Cap, as a back up he's good value for money with upside potential.

To answer my question, not hard enough.
Over to you..
Sometimes no matter how hard you go it's never going to be enough because the player has different priorities to what we can offer. Especially with not a lot of spare Cap space.
I can do this all day.

I think it's definitely going to be an issue for us again this season, really disappointing that we couldn't get someone else over to get the job done.

The other thing that makes things worse is the lack of a dominant and vocal half on the field. Wakeham did it for Fiji surrounded by a bunch of nobodies in the spine yet it doesn't look like he will even get the chance to play a similar role to that with us for the time being. Foran can do it but he obviously isn't fit and when he is fit he still doesn't have the legs to do it enough of the time.

Ok for starters i dont have all day for a simple answer lol.

1 example and u can work out the rest, with the effort shown in pullin in someone like luke thompson, we could have used the energy towards a much more needed position in our case. The jury will be out on luke thompson.

Continue to go all day, youre on your own :grinning:

Sorry that you are giving up just as it was getting interesting.

I'm not sure what the Thompson signing for 2021 has to do with not signing Robson or Britain for 2020. For starters we didn't have the Cap space available this year that we have next year. Plus how do you know who we have or haven't signed for a hooker in 2021? Or might sign in the next 12 months? You are comparing today's oranges with next year's apples, meaningless.

Too many "what ifs" with you.

Ive read alot of your stuff, some can be worthy and some can be cringe worthy.
Play whats in front of you rather than beating around the bush lol.

The first problem is there's quite few on TK who simple won't acknowledge that they don't know what they don't know.
The second problem is that there's quite a few on TK who resort to personal insults when their errors are pointed out.
No need for beating around the bush, when there are facts available.

Yeh i thought the same at the time or even reece robson. Club has failed big time in this area.
Robson, Brittain cant get a start in first grade. Katoa is an international. He has made a few mistakes, but all good players do.
But I dont mind the odd mistake, when hes trying to do something. He will be good for us.

Wakeham is an international = better than Lewis and Cogger. Case closed.

Btw those players that youve mentioned above have some handy 1st picks in front of em so i wouldnt look too much into that.
