Only because there offloading Molatalo who is a absolute scoring machine can defend like a no other as well he would be great even cam McInnes he is there captain and off contract he is like a Kurt Mann I would take cam McInnes any day even though he has no teeth no fear he just goes hard tackles hard.

1. Terrell may great stats and is young and fit can defend and run but needs to buy into the system the whole I wanna play with my brother crap
Isn’t happening until Taylan and Tyrone come back from sl which isn’t any time soon so he could be a good option we need a fucking forward for goodness sake GUS can sign great back rowers but we can’t just rely on BIG KING he needs back up a solid backup.
2. Thompson but now knights have signed his brother don’t know weather that would effect the signing maybe it would maybe not we will find out in a week a would say we have been very quiet about signings GUS likes to say it all at once and make the media go crazy!!!
3. Cam McInnes can play in the forwards aswell and is a solid 80

4. The full back role pappy or falagoo both great but I see Melbourne keeping Fa’alogo because of his age and talent
5. Pappy was a Canterbury fan which could lead him with us and would be great to have

I think we could afford may pappy and McInnes

The whole Thompson thing sounds to good to be true unless they pay him the money now GUS is very good at cap space that’s why he doesn’t pay overs but we can for one player get the the new 10 million dollar sponsor to chuck in as a third party deal done

Currently we have a lot of very good players without that rockstar/gamechanger.

Paps looks like one of the few who may be available for the foreseeable future. He ticks all the boxes off field as well and would become a team leader. A very impressive individual schooled in the Melbourne way, which is not to be overlooked.

Not knocking Tracey who i like a lot however, Paps is at another level.

His injury history is a concern, but at his best he was one of the elite players in the comp and will only be 28 in 2026. I 100% trust the Bulldogs to do the due diligence if we were to sign him.

I had been advocating for Hunt as i deemed him the best player available, but Paps surpasses him ...... younger and much more dynamic.

Also agree we do not need two forwards ..... Either May or Thompson will be enough. I have a preference for May as I like his ability to create second phase play and is available for next season ..... Providing he isn't a complete dickhead of course. Once again due diligence. .... CC has known him since he was a kid.

I expect Hughes to improve a lot, and we have added Tupouniua, Armone and DFS .... Todd will also be knocking on the door.

Add these two to the current team, who have a majority of players projected to improve, and we become one of the best rosters in the NRL.

High end talents such as KO, Woods and Sloan are also in the wings.

Apparently Sloan has left us which is disappointing.
 
The thing with star power in the backline, teams have to focus efforts and game plans on multiple players - this takes pressure off blokes like Crighton and Burto and creates additional pockets of space. Paps would be a good get in this regard but I feel like we’re heading in the right direction whatever we do moving forward - promising juniors coming through and cash in the bank, happy days
 
The sharksand roosters will be big threats to us signing Paps due to obviously their stronger rosters. I don't see us signing Paps unless we offer a very attractable deal

why no chance sharks? Paps would be very attracted to their,strong roster. I wouldn't underestimate,the Sharks. They have proven they can attract top quality players

Just this week there was an article saying how Kennedy could be the odd man out as their cap is busting and they have Atkinson and some other kid who can be a option either to move hynes or work with hynes and trndal.

Hynes and afb are probz on 2+ mil. Upgrading and extending a lot of guys. Can’t add a 3rd mil player.

Kennedy would be on half paps deal. They need space based on that article.

Agree re May. Our club isn't dumb and will only sign him if it's right for our club. We've walked away from other players as they don't fit our culture, and we'll do the same in this case if we have to.

As you say though, CC has history with him so I trust his judgement.
