TripleM: If Keary & Lam are ruled out with longterm injurys the roosters will be seeking dispensation from NRL to add replacements to their NRL list to cover for the injuries..

Quite ironic considering they have more depth than most in the halves with Hutchison, Walker (next superstar supposedly) & Keighran (currently injured) all on their books..

Suck it up Rorter$ injuries are apart of the game.. its early days but you wont be the first club that may have your premiership chances ruined by injury..
lol what bullshit. We didn't ask for dispensation when we lost Radley and Verrills last year and so there's no precedent. This is Triple M burleying up the water.

You shouldn't need dispensation. You should be able to use any NSW Cup player that is under contract to you

They'll probably name Walker and Hutchison in the halves today. They really don't need dispensation as those are still two FG halves options in their top 30.

I reckon it's a beat up but whatever, NO even though it's my lot we shouldn't get it.

We got dealt a hand with Keary and gotta play on with what we got. WE blood some youngers and we go how we go.....end of.

There is this crap going about that we're after Maloney. Bullshit. He don't wanna come back and seriously.....FFS we need to put faith in the youngers not chase a hasbeen ( sure in his day he was good, that was then, now is now).

Rabbiting on but NO DISPENSATION.

Sydney Roosters legend Brad Fittler urges club to sign Gareth Widdop amid injury crisis

Sydney Roosters legend Brad Fittler has urged the club to sign Gareth Widdop, with an injury crisis putting their premiership hopes in jeopardy.

After a horror night against the Rabbitohs last Friday that saw both halves in Luke Keary and Lachlan Lam go down with knee injuries, there are major concerns over the side's title chances.

Keary will miss the remainder of the NRL season after tearing his ACL, while Lam is set to miss six weeks after injuring his MCL.
The absence of Keary is going to leave a huge hole in the Roosters squad, with young gun Sam Walker set to debut in round 4 against the Warriors in the halfback position.

At just 18 years of age and without a senior playmaker alongside him, it is a huge task ahead of Walker.

And that's exactly why Fittler has urged the club to chase English star Widdop, who was seeking a return to the NRL prior to the 2021 season.

"I think it’s a good idea," he said on Freddy and The Eighth.

“I know they were looking at Widdop before, and there was a problem with Gareth coming back.

"Sam Walker can be a great young player, and you’ve also got Drew Hutchison who is quite inexperienced.

"If you want to win grand finals, I don’t know if they are the halves that can win you a grand final. They might be the halves that can do you a great job and get you in the semi finals."

Hutchison has spent time at the Dragons and UK Super League club Leigh Centurions before joining the Roosters in 2019, where he has played just 11 games in over two years.

Widdop's potential arrival would be a huge coup for the Roosters - he is a class player and is proven as an NRL playmaker.

As for the questions over whether or not they can afford him, Fittler handed us all a timely reminder about the Boyd Cordner salary cap exemption.
“Boyd Cordner – there’s about a $300,000 exemption because Boyd won’t play in the first three months," he said.

"The last time he was concussed was in a representative game.
"There’s space there."

Widdop has played 196 NRL games across stints with Melbourne and St George Illawarra, and was a part of the Storm's premiership-winning side in 2012.

Yep the last time he was concussed was in a rep game, but what about the 25 times before that? The reason he is out is not because of the LAST concussion, it's because he regularly get concussed.

But we all know which way the NRL will go with this don't we?

No wonder fans are so fed up with the game with rules for some teams & not others.

Hutchinson sucks .... he’s barely reserve grade standard
They should be able to get Munster or Wighton on loan ... it’s only fair

Typical Roosters. Lose a key player or two and go and raid one of the best clubs in the UK for their marquee player who's on big money as if it's nothing..

I doubt this would happen. Warrington would tell them to fuck off. But the arrogance of Fittler to suggest it is hilarious.
