Sonny doesn't play like a high profile player every game, last week he was really quiet, so do we drop him for that? reni is just over average. OK he does have some disipline issues with him but his skills and abilties are needed at this game.

I havent given him heaps really, but i do think he needs to lift a hell of a lot for a senior player on big bucks, and adjusting his attitude a little might not hurt either.

Exactly. He doesn't get paid upwards of $300k to get out on the piss and get arrested or get into verbal or physical arguments. He's paid to be in top shape and perform well.

He was on an alcohol ban yet still went out on the piss.

But that doesn't make any sense at all.. Why throw a player who hasn't been playing well, who has been in trouble for drinking when he's not suppose to and who hasn't been performing on the field in PL even, into one of our biggest grudge matches of the year? It doesn't make any sense dude.

Who is he to deserve special treatment anyway? He ****s up, he plays PL. He ****ed up and now he's playing PL and under performing there too.
What are you talking about, step back and reassess the situation dude

His been playing well, the stats proved that.

He got drunk in his time, and argued with someone on his time.

How does this result in him being dropped to PL and kept there in the best biggest match of the year so far

It does ,think if you are a player and you cant let the team down in this match, biggest match of the year.... would you change your ways and your thinking? i would, he would be reading all the papers and watching the team training, he doesnt need to be treated like a baby.... his social life does not fit in with his footy life, leave that part out of this....where talking footy now.

He wasn't dropped because of his performance, he was dropped because he went out on the piss when he was on an alcohol ban. He was on the alcohol ban for a previous alcohol incident which nearly got him sacked.

His where your wrong mate

He gets paid to preform in the game, keep in good shape and perform like you said.

But it doesn't mean he cant live his own private life the way chooses to live it, they cant buy that off mate.

Again, you are missing the point.

HE WAS DROPPED BECAUSE HE WENT ON THE PISS WHEN HE WAS ON AN ALCOHOL BAN

He nearly got sacked because of previous incidents with alcohol yet while still on an alcohol ban he goes out on the piss and causes an incident (minor or not). What were people saying when Willie wanted out? "No player is bigger than our club." The same should got for anyone, including Maitua.

1 night on the piss wouldnt make a big difference to his fitness levels i think. He doesnt get drunk during the week and his training so by the end of monday all that **** is outta his system and his back to his old self.

Yes he has acted like a clown in recent times, but truth of the matter is Reni Maitua is a big game player, who has been awesome for us in the past. Tough, creative, and can play at 13, 3, 4, 11, or 12. He would certainly add some mongrel to the dogs pack on friday night. Im still not convinced that he's not playing though. We'll see.

Did the article state his blood alcohol level ???

Did the article state why the "incident" occured in the first place ???

You mean Tsoulos, the one who was probably our best in Round 1? He made 23 tackles, 17 runs and 157 meters with 4 offloads chucked in there. He might look/be a bit fat but he performed a lot better than most.
