Fkn lol at the clowns ripping into Gus for doing his job.

If the dumb fuck didn't rack up and drive, Gus wouldn't have to do anything and the broken, aging winger would still have a job.

Your hate make you look like fucking idiots....
To be fair, it wasn't even Gus, it was the board. So th clowns suggesting Gus is a megalomaniac etc? Lol

So if we sack him, we have to pay the full freight off our cap for next year? I am confused, if its a breach of contract due to a legal matter, wouldnt that make it void?
Also Ben Hunt just got punted too and its nothing of their cap lol
I do
Forgive me for trying to keep the tone civil and respectful.

You have literally no proof that there is a serious problem with addiction. Let alone that the club identified and tried to do something about it. Talking out of your backside.
You might have to be careful telling people that they are talking out of their backside because they have no proof.
People might ask you for proof for some of your comments, such as "Gus is only in it for the money". Pot calling the kettle black?

They pick and choose what's Gus' fault and what's not. If it's a good player, it's all CC. If the player turns out to be a dud, it's all Gus.

It's pathetic.

I’d say that’s pretty unlikely. You think everyone who fails a roadside drug or alcohol test gets reported to their workplace and loses their job? You’ve gotta laugh at the naivety of some people on here.

Maybe someone who heeded their car for work might be in a spot of bother, but most people? Nah.
Teachers in Queensland have mandatory reporting obligations to the college of teachers for any charges they face. If they fail to declare they can be disciplined for failing to do so. The naivety of some on here is very funny indeed.

Bitter sweet. There must be more to this story. Other players have done the same if not worse and it was brushed off like it was barely an inconvenience e.g. Mam, Fatrell and Trindall.

No doubt it would have destabilized the team coming into our first finals match we've played in a long time. Maybe in context we felt like with him playing we could have moved further in the finals. Maybe other players and coaching staff felt like the trust factor has gone. Once that's gone, then it never ends well.

My guess trust. Gus isn’t a man I think that you lie to and survive. Especially once he defends you and throw in our final etc…

Was he wearing the blue and white when he committed his offences??? No... People make mistakes. Zane served his time. Some people learn from their experiences... and some unfortunatley don't.
Some still are in denial that they even made a mistake to begin with. That’s the problem most aren’t seeing

Glad the saga is finally over.

He had to go; NO player is above the Club and the fact he wasn't up front and honest about what actually happened and treating it as a joke says a lot about the guy.

Thanks for your services the club Josh but you only have yourself to blame for being sacked.

Hopefully they can retain Blake Wilson for next season as there were rumours of him going to the Eels.

I take it Hunt will head to the Titans now that Tanah Boyd has signed with the Warriors.

Racking up the week before our biggest game in years shows absolutely zero leadership and zero belief in the "Club first" value that the club is trying to build

Also shows incredible immaturity for a 29 year old premiership winning Origin and test player

And a selfishness beyond belief, that he did what he did, in the week before our biggest game for years, when everyone involved in the club had worked so hard to finally get the club from rock bottom and back into the finals.

To turn the whole week of preparation upside down with all the negative press, and probably worst of all, if he played , those couple of key moments that determined the game, could have been avoided and we could quite easily have won that game

For me , that isn't the type of "role model" I want the younger players in the club looking up to and following

As another poster said, his personality would probably wear thin on some people and I think after last season we now have many more "leaders" within the playing group that can lead the entire playing group in the club into the future

I think the club has 100% made the right call

You think a large number of other players aren’t on it every weekend, regardless of the point in the season? I think that’s naive.
Most agree that there is a large number of players on it, and yes every weekend.
The point is what category does JAC belong to?
The casual weekend snorter or the every day chaser addict.
My opinion is the latter known by the club. Offered assistance. Turned down, culminating into this present fiasco leaving the club no
option.
He and his Solicitor thought they had a good chance of a good outcome but when his past was bought up. Game over.
