NRL should have flexed this game to 8pm and moved that trash Souths to the 6pm slot.
Yeah but what about the regional Doggies fans that have to travel 4 hours to get to the game and travel back home when it's finished. A late game might be OK if you live locally.

But the chooks stole it from us in 2002. 2004 was just payback.
I would bet that they were cheating the cap more than us at that time, If the truth was ever to be known.
I clearly remember sticky in responce to a question about them only winning because we were disqualified , bowing down and saying with tongue in cheek in a very unconvinencing way (that he would have had better players if he had the extra money we spent on players for 02.)

How does the "best ref" in the game get the 6pm Friday game? Something stinks.
The 8pm game is Pantsers v souffs, Klein reffed Pantsers in Round 24. They rotate the refs not based on timeslot but on not giving them the same team too often.

Im sure there are other teams at better time slots.

IN sayinng that our game shouldnt be the 6pm game... Its easily the game of the week.

I seem to recall that the exact scheduling for games used to be worked out a month in advance, rather than at the start of the season? I'd pick our game and the Bonks v Dolphins as the pick of the games, with Cows v Storm and Chooks v Raiders in the picture as well. If the prime time game spots are Friday 8pm, Saturday 7:30pm, and Sunday 4pm, only one of those top 4 games is in a prime time spot.

Having said that, all of the games this Round feature at least 1 team that is either battling out for the best position between 2nd and 7th, or still technically in the chase for 8th spot. The last round will have at least 1 dead rubber (the spoon off), but as many as 5 depending on the results this round.

I'm travelling 5 hrs each way but I would've preferred the later time slot so I didn't have to rush dinner and a few bevvy's

There are pros and cons of allocating playing days for the full year when the draw is done months in advance.

The biggest problem of course is teams that many, including channel 9 who have a big say in what they show in prime time spots, are not as competitive as expected.

A perfect example of this was the Broncos in the year they won the wooden spoon, but were well over 10 in terms of Thursday and Friday night Prime Time games. The next season after that they still got a lot of Prime Time games.

Fans quite rightly want to know well in advance the exact time the games are on, and the NRL for a few years now have appeased the fans wishes with dates and times for the full season.

I think a better solution would be the leave the last 4 rounds “open” until say about 6 to 8 weeks from the end of the season, and then decide the allocations for the last four rounds.

Some of the recent Friday 8pm games like Broncos V Eels and this week Panthers V Souths on paper are potentially not as good as games in other less crowd friendly time slots. Prior to the season starting they looked a good fit. Not now, and that is the issue.

I would expect the Bulldogs by virtue of their performances this season, to get a much better share of the Prime Time games next year.

My other big bug bear with the draw is that our last home game in round one was 2017. If Accor is unavailable a home game against an out of Sydney team at Belmore should happen.

Not playing at home until round 3 like we have at least twice in the last three years is unacceptable. All this leads to to is accusations of bias and favoured teams.

Im not sure about the scheduling but they would be around a month in advance 2 thirds through the season or there abouts.

All i know is NRL, Coporate sponsors and media outlets missed a trick with this one.

Also i think its time they move the 6pm to 6:30. The amount of times the 6pm game fills up by 6:30 is like everytime.

I would argue that for the Tigpies, the spoon off is anything but a dead rubber, same for Barrett trying to avoid 2 spoons with 2 clubs..
Yeah I'm actually looking forward to the spoon off, it is technically a dead rubber, but for league fans, especially western Sydney ones, it is probably almost as important as the GF!

We got ambushed last week, held our nerve and stuck to the process and outscored the warriors 34-6 in last 60 minutes.
They have found multiple ways to win a game this year
Yep eradicate those early errors(it will be dry and fast so we should be able to)because we don't want to get into any trend of falling behind especially with the real serious games just around the corner.
