That's because of how grey the entire situation was. The basically had 2 options:

(a) Please guilty get a 3 month suspension from the game (which was very convenient considering it was the off-season)
(b) Fight the chargers and risk 2 years to life ban from the game.

Of course they were going to plead guilty, it doesn't mean they were.

Look at us, in 2004, we got fined $500,000 by the NRL for bringing the game into disrepute because of the rape bullshit. Did we do anything? No... yet we were fined.

I see various specialists and am on roughly 8 tablets a day. 6 in the morning 2 at night. Whenever the doctor/professor/whoever prescribes it I ask several questions. What it does, how long I'll be on it, what are the side effects, is it absolutely necessary and so on.

Jobe Watson stripped of Brownlow (which I felt was grossly unfair ) if you think of it if the nrl had fined Cronulla a million only they would have sent them bust looking at how they are travelling financially now. Maybe tell the players to sell it instead of snorting coke? Lol

AFL is a better ran organisation where as the nrl is a daily sitcom with its drama the afk have balls and punish accordingly but what’s the point in fining the sharks they can’t pay it back they hit the nrl up for a loan

The team doctor Dave Givney apparently raised serious concerns about what was going on and called for action to be taken. I don’t think he’d have told players everything was sweet.
