Pay will say what he wants in front of media but behind closed doors it’s a different story.

I don’t fucking care about effort. That’s the problem with this guy. You can not tolerate losing. It creates a atmosphere of losing. You want to pat the players on the back for trying hard? Mate this isn’t a fucking charity or under 7s. This is professional sport, and in professional sport winners are loved and paid with losers being fired.

Sick of this bloke. Seems so dumb and doesn’t know how to manage a team.
Sure, the ultimate aim should be to win, but tearing shreds off a young roster that is underresourced in key areas when the players are showing effort and improvement would be a stupid, counter productive tactic that would only undermine the confidence of young players and take us backwards.

Sometimes as coach of a young group of players who are representing a club that is trying to rebuild from a crisis, you just have to do the sensible thing and applaud obvious effort and improvement where you see it as Pay is doing.

I’m glad you’re not coaching us, Vince Lombardi. Maybe if we were playing in the NFL with a top flight roster your philosophy would be useful. Lol.

There wasn't enough "y'knows" in Pays statement for it to be believable.

The squad seems to be better than a 4-13 team (slightly), so if the effort is good, what is the cause of it under achieving and staring down the barrel of one of our worst seasons on record? I suspect this playing group is done, its time to move on.

Pay is already a bit of a unpopular coach, so at this point, I hope he really goes for it and strips out at least 75% of the current squad and we just start new in a few years. Hate to be negative but I can't see us being competitive till 2020 at best really.

The effort is there and that is all you can ask from a roster like this.

Pay needs to get the recruitment right. Our biggest problem is now edge defence with Jmoz gone. So both sides will be terrible. The attack has improved considering the inexperience in the spine.

I’m sick of hearing about the boys effort from Pay. Stop talking shit and pick a line up that is deserving of their positions even if their from the lower grades. Not just adding in players because they have a name their, your love child or because you have a affiliation with them from 5 years ago.

For one that frickin Lichaa, this dumb shit should of been exited years ago. There are many others but I’m not going to give myself carpel tunnel over them.

“Umm y’know, Elliot was fantastic tonight. His missed tackles, metre eater or lack there of, opposing teams don’t fear him, errors and no sense of direction was the epitome of the team. Perfect person to build the team around”.

If you were the coach of our great and proud club, we would be in for another 10 years of bullshit.

Simply being tough and uncompromising is not an approach that works 100% of the time.

Ive said it before. The biggest problem this team has is a distinct lack of quality leadership. They dont know how to close out a game.
The skipper should be rallying the troops, not standing in a centre position and hoping things will be OK.
Great player is JJ, but doesnt cut it as a leader.

Don’t get me wrong what you say is true. But right now, I honestly believe he should be tearing new assholes every week. We are apparently “rebuilding”, so if we want cap to play with, make life miserable for the weak ***** who like to lose so they ask for a release.

This coddling bullshit isn’t needed right now. We are at a crucial stage here at the club, we don’t want to end up like Nsw, who have the same group of players who have seen so many losses and declines that they don’t know how to win anymore.

Maybe it's just me but I really don't think that being brutal and uncompromising on players who have been put through the ringer for two years because of Hasler, Castle and Rib will be productive. I also don't think it will be productive on young kids like Lewis and Marshall-King who are being thrown into the NRL for the first time in a team that is playing with half a salary cap.

As long as we beat Parra and Warriors I’ll be happy in an otherwise doom and gloom season

Very good point about half of the salary cap. We were playing the best team in the comp on Saturday. The game actually went better than expected. Souths scored a few run away tries and the scoreline flattered them.

Not sure what others were expecting. Would haven been the upset of the season if we beat them. Lets not forget they were on an 8 game winning streak

Proud to be a Bulldog...
A phrase that's often been repeated over the years...
Empty words even when we had just won in the last few years.
Now...I don't know about you.
In the last three weeks and even after we have just lost...Judging the boys by their efforts.
I am truly proud to be a Bulldog again !!!
