Former Panther Corey Harawira-Naera has been interviewed by the NRL Integrity Unit as the probe to find the leak of the sex tapes that have rocked the code intensifies.
The Panthers believed that a disgruntled former player may have leaked the tapes on social media - and Harawira-Naera was under suspicion having signed a long-term deal with Canterbury last September.
But after several hours of questioning and checking his phone data, the Integrity Unit cleared Harawira-Naera, believing he had nothing to do with the destablising links.
Harawira-Naera’s name was also splashed across social media by ‘loose cannons’ looking to identify the culprits behind the leaks, which threaten to wreck the Panthers’ season.

The Integrity Unit will continue to interview players in coming days, while the police are also involved. The recording and distribution of sexual images and videos without the consent of the parties involved is against the law, hence the charges against Panthers player Tyrone May.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are now seriously concerned about the welfare of May, who has been suspended from playing indefinitely. He has been cleared to train with his teammates, however.
Penrith officials believe the distribution of up to four videos this week is an attempt by a former player to wreck their season before it starts.
