They should bring back the two referee system - they only took it away to save money during Covid and the game is so fast now it's impossible to leave the adjudication to one person and expect them to get it right all the time. At least have one referee for the defending team and one for the attacking team - it worked well in the past, why wouldn't it work now?
Nice thought but they are in trouble finding enough decent performers for one referee per game. Mistakes galore and too many times interpretation plays a role. Yeah, touchies could get a call up but even they are hopeless missing so many things in plain view. Refs going into the video ref box just amplifies the poor standard at the moment.

How many of the current referees have played adult Rugby League. Not many I would guess.
The NRL needs to recruit former players to the ranks. Who remembers Keith Holman.
Keith Holman aka Yappy...now there's a blast from the past. Player, referee and a coach to boot. Keith Page, Col Pearce...yep saw them all....

Its a big fat nah brah. Get past all the waffle etc., if Trindall was Taaffe and Kiks was Nikora, would I be happy if that was awarded? No way.
If the shoe was on the other foot, I would have been relieved to get a penalty in that situation but I wouldn’t have blown up about it because oppositely, there’s no way Taaffe is stopping Nikora in that situation.

Well then. You are a very judicious person.

And yet when Johnson scored and Mahoney had no chance of making that tackle against the Waz, did u feel the same then?

Then they have to improve the training and education standards to meet the goals the NRL wants to set pace and product wise. They’re well paid, the only excuse for not bringing more recruits through would be individual hesitation of copping abuse from disgruntled one-eyed brain dead fans who constantly bleat about ‘corruption’. The same who constantly bleat about the side of politics they don’t like. Would love to see them with a whistle out in the middle :tearsofjoy:.

I see your view and it makes perfect sense, but personally, I think I would have taken that situation as a “well he was no chance anyway” if it was against us with Sharks attacking, but I’m just speculating, maybe in the heat of the moment, I’d break the TV set in a fit of rage… what I do know is, Trindall was wrong footed and Kiks found the gap at pace, there was zero chance of preventing a Try.

Fark me, that was completely different Doogie, Warriors put on a NFL blocker play for that, and yes, I flipped my lid deluxe

Yeah I'd call that an obstruction every day of the week too. But Reed had no chance of making that tackle. So it shouldn't matter right? Same same right?

I'm sure Ziggy is a nice bloke and all just like RFM was. The fact is he is out of his depth in this league and should look for work over in the ESL.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll bring him back for Good Friday vs the Bunnies. Can't leave it to chance after tonight's performance...

I’d be surprised if Sutton isn’t given the game on Good Friday.

You are relentless fkn lol. We were on the bad end of both calls. Both incorrect decisions. The issue is not if he would of made the tackle. The issue is it was not a mutual infringement. The call was incorrect.

But Analsley said the Johnson try was a try. And everyone says the Analsley is always right. So you saying that Analsley is right this time but was wrong last time?

And if Analsley was wrong this time, the play the ball says.....tada..... Mutual Infringement.

Everyone seems to have a different reason for why it was a try. I just point at the rules and go - tickets please :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

And yet - the Johnson try was a black and white escort that the entire NRL world said no try and yet Analsley justified that shit sandwich. This one, haven't heard a commentator really push the button to say it was a try. Go figure :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:
