I don't pretend to know anything about the state of our cap, my only observation would be given clubs have to spent at least 95% of the cap clubs like us recently have filled it with overpriced average players. Since Gus has arrived we are slowly replacing them with either better players or low cost players. All this, and with the cap increase from 23 i think we would be in pretty good shape.

Sure, I'd back us for now with what he have coaching and administration wise but the reality is we've been as shit as each other for a while so it's stupid to get into a slinging match with each other.
I agree, let’s see where we are come round 5 and then round 10 & let the footy do the talking ..

I agree with you 100%, how many times have we been stung by players chasing a pay day, they are here to make money in the end but I'm sick of the poor character recruiting side of it, we can learn from Bellamy as he rarely gets it wrong.

Paying big coin and getting lacklustre perform, I trust Gus to make the right calls if anyone can.
The lessons to learn from Bellamy is that Melbourne rarely recruit players who were already superstars.
Who ever heard of Slater, Inglis, Smith, Cronk, Munster etc before they played for Melbourne?
They became great players at Melbourne.

Thats true, he also has a keen eye for players who may lack talent/need improvement and are driven vs players who have talent who lack motivation to improve etc.

This is probably my Top 5 for backrowers
1. Papali’i
2. Kikau
3. Nanai
4. Young
5. Crighton/Lane

I know he had a shit season last year but I'd have David fifita ahead of nanai and Crichton
Nah i gotta disagree sorry he was pretty meh this year, crighton and nanai were better. 2021 easily Fifita is top 3.

im going by overall as a player obviously this season fifita was garbage and lazy. but overall he can easily be in the top 5 most damaging backrowers in the game

I think Nanai fifita are fair to say are going to be elite backrower and probably as good as anyone on their day.

papali’i and kikau are the two best imo. Kikau has better hands and arguably a bigger threat offensively.

Crichton isn’t far behind these 4 and has been for several years while papal’i fifita and Nanai either have 1 cracking year or yet to back it up (Nanai)

Young, lane and olakau’atu aren’t far off for me.

We have to be favourites. Money's about the same.

TIGERS
David Klemmer: Well known f..king moody sook and couldn't make the NSW team because of it
Coaching staff: Choice number 2 after they couldn't get the current Dogs coach. Tim Sheens - hasn't coached NRL in how many years ? Benji Marshall - no experience as a coach. He'll really improve his game under these two NOT !
Partnered with Brooks again who has been shit for years - so more pressure on Moses to get results
They have a history of bad management decisions, players rejecting them, new players making jokes about them, having second thoughts after signing contracts, etc. They seriously thought the Eels might release Moses a year early when they want to keep him forever F..KING LOL !!!!!!! That place is like amateur hour
What were the reasons he left to go to the Eels again ? Do any of those problems still exist ?

DOGS
Ciraldo (rejected Tigers) - most sought after new coach in the last 10 years. Just helped the team who won the comp.
JAC (rejected Tigers) - best personality in the NRL. Makes work fun. The complete opposite to Klemmer
Reed Mahoney - mate and used to his style of play in the spine. Will get good familiar service from dummy half
Partnered with rising star in Burton who will take pressure off him especially with his long kicking game
We now have one of the top trainers / conditioners in the NRL who'll get him in top shape
More good players to arrive like Crichton, Xerri, and hopefully Leniu
Gets to play with the most damaging ball runner in the comp in Kikau. Will make Moses look good
He's Lebanese - Belmore is the place to be to be with his cousins - half of which he didn't even know existed
Phil Gould - one of the smartest brains in rugby league
Arthur Laundy - happy to mentor him on life after footy - investing in pubs (mini casinos)
Greater chance of winning a comp in the next few years or he may never get the chance.
Dogs rebuild is First Class. Tigers is Economy

Here's his former buddy after finding out the Dogs no longer wanted him
