i have a hooker plan tbh.
Yeah but our forwards did not get on top the whole time. I thought Mbye defended very very well.yes he would have he is 80 minutes of machine, we would have at least matched it all night, watch it again the dogs went downhill right when mbye got tired and was walking and then after he got taken off
not knocking mbye, its a tough ask to go 80
I'd go with this to be honest.Call me crazy. but after tonight i want this next year.
6. Mbye
7. Hodkinson
9. Reynolds
14. Lichaa
Well said. This is the key. Moses did ok but like you say, we were out of sync and I have to put that down to no Ennis. It's not that obvious but pass selection and quick thinking separate the good hookers from the average. It looks like you just have to pick a pass and send the ball away at hooker, but I'd say that specialist hookers are great at making the split second decisions. I won't say that Mbye was a dud tonight, but our forward pack were just a touch out of sync with him. Browne over-ran a couple of passes way before they were thrown and at times the defense was in the faces of every forward catching a pass. Every play starts with the hooker so losing that split second decision making that Ennis has had years to perfect can roll on and means nobody gets the ball in space. 2014 was a pretty big improvement on 2013 but it's a let down to have lost Ennis for the grand final. I hope Lichaa can fill the big shoes Ennis is leaving behind.
because the last thing we saw of him before being taken off was him was making a final effort to shut down a souths offload/half linebreak and then he was walking back in defence clearly a spent playerGeez there's some morons here. Mbye was fine at hooker and who's to say he couldn't have played 80? Maybe it was simply Des not thinking he could
George Burgess's try to put them up 12-6 came down to Mbye's exhaustion and inexperience. The play before he made a bad play out of hooker where he passed to Finucane on the last (I think), and Burgess literally strolled through the middle where Mbye should have been there to stop him.because the last thing we saw of him before being taken off was him was making a final effort to shut down a souths offload/half linebreak and then he was walking back in defence clearly a spent player
he was defending inside of hodkinson when souths worked the play to george burgess finding heaps of room in behind the play the ball where the hooker should be
again not knocking him, but knocking the situation to have him play until he was spent and not having a proper plan to manage him through the game
Coach Hazilla would have had reni on at 30 minutes, then mbye back on at 45-50min, reni on stand by if he was needed late in the game
for the record the hooker plan was jackson, but he too was tired
