Need advice from a renter!!

Wifey has 26 relatives. They all look at the I30 and go - he/she/they has money......

good to see you back.. no one has seen you since the referendum thread?

When I say I’m gonna pay, I pay. But it wasnt cheap, so tonight no dinner..

rule number 1 in that situation ..pay your own way, individual bills and make it known beforehand
ive been stung before like you just have, and stung by people who are in a much better financial position than me, so fuck this 1 payer crap, have it sorted beforehand

agree with you mate.. no one at that table would pay my bills for me..but were happy to eat on me. I genuinely got caught today being a nice guy and not wanting to ask for the cash.

there are some members on here that have eaten on the back of very poor people, deplorable conduct and he never replies to me as he knows I always check him on this.

Needing some advice from a renter..

I went out to lunch organised by my Mrs… she invites a few of her relo”s…

anyhow when the bill comes out it goes to me and $740 later I put it On my credit card.. I didn’t feel right to ask anyone for money or work out who ate what or should paid what etc … but I was done dirty.

but a renter would never get stung in that scenario.. how would a renter behave in this scenario? Choke each person out to pay their share? Throw hands until each pay up? Or only go to McDonald’s so each order needs to pay up front?

how does a renter do it right?
You're first rookie mistake was going out with your ****-in-laws.

Only us home owners know that ;)

A lot of my Lebanese brothers on here can relate, and that it that I rarely get the opportunity to pay.

This is a classic recent scenario.

I was out with 10 guys for one of our mates birthdays. There was friends and cousins there, all just hanging out at a bar enjoying a few drinks. There was a bar tab, but that's beside the point. Later on in the evening, we decided to hit the Cas, but needed to sober-up before hand so we can have a few more drinks at the Cas. Anyway, all of us went to Nobu in the Crown. We ordered bits and pieces of food, sharing platters etc... and just kind of snacked on them. The brother-in-law of the birthday boy tried to sneak away and pay the bill. One of the boys noticed this and shouted out to him.

Next thing you see if 7 Lebos making a bee-line for it, bolting to the counter screaming and shouting, getting their plastic out to be the one to pay the $950 bill.

The DJ asked me what the fuss was about as she's never seen anything like it. I told her it's all about pride. Whoever pays is the most proud lol. She thought a fight broke out at first when the shouting started. I said to her a fight did break out, but instead of swinging their fists at each other, they were swinging their cards at the counter lol. You should've seen the person at the counter, she had no idea who's card to take or what to do lol.

It's one of those things that's so embarrassing but also funny lol.

that is true but us home owners are a little more generous , susceptible to being short changed at times.. the downside of home ownership is we are the pampered indoor cat, meals provided. the renters are the rabid outdoor cat with more street survival skills having to hunt for their next meal / live hand to mouth
