As in "don't get in the way FROM the play the ball, get in the way DURING the play".

Our hooker needs to improve out of sight, and our halves needs to touch the ball more and start organising the other players to play off them.
None of that will happen unless Des lets it happen.

Didn't dib say just watch the exciting brand of football we will be playing in 2017.
I think the powers that be are just feeding us whatever they think will fool us for a few more days. We are hearing major changes and just minor tweaks so.................

If he decides to go MIA this year he should be worried about who may succeed him as dogs #7. He's got utility value but has hopefully only shown glimpses of how good he can be.

Hope it's not just empty words.

As much as I want to be fatuous and condescending on this thread, I have to say; fuck I hope he delivers. He really is our only hope.
We can't rely on Reynolds do deliver freak plays every week and we can't get more than 30mins out of kas.
If we're to do anything this year it'll be on his back.

He will be fill in at best. Munster, Milford and Hunt are all in front of him.
He looks the least dangerous of the four.
On the rare occasion he takes the line on he is slow and almost predictable.

The missing link in this discussion is that the team needs an organiser (ie. someone like Terry Lamb). Sadly that guy is not Mbye.
Mbye is a great athlete. He is a great ball runner. He is just not a half or an organiser. He has no creative instincts.
The best position for him is in the backline. Centre or fullback would suit his style of play.
One can only hope that Cleeland, Frawley etc can step up.

What has Moses actually done that has got people talking him up as a rep star of the future? Ash Taylor does more for his team than Mr $800,000.

exactly he had no one holding him back in the all stars game and he still step up. he is lucky he signed a contract last year, not that means anything these days.
all this des holding him back crap is rubbish, if he wants the ball he needs to go after it, thats a half back does.
Ive said that from the get go. I have never used Haslers "structures" as an excuse for him, like others. We had a small glimpse of what he could do under the current Aussie coach, and he did nothing. Sure he had a dud team but his errors had nothing to do with that. He missed the tackle, then rushed up and kicked out on the full which all led to tries. Sure he would probably get better with time under new structures but tbh I wouldnt be so sure that he automatically gets better like some suggest.

Oh and 100%, if he wants the ball go fucking get it. To me its just a massive cop out saying "he's not allowed", also its a lot of shit.

Mbye needs to be given about 5 matches to prove he's worthy of hb and if he's still shit rip his contract up, I'm so sick of seeing this guy underperforming he needs to stfu and earn his money, I haven't seen this guy prove in one game he's first grade material and I'm guessing nothing will change this year.

Moses is not coming along as a half (under Des or not) and is actually getting further from that Maroons jersey, not closer. Hopefully he can turn things around because we really need him to.
