Do we get excited that Curran is talking him up ?

How Canterbury Bulldogs prospect Mitchell Woods is impressing in first NRL pre-season
After captaining the Harold Matthews side to a premiership win in 2023, Woods backed this up with another impressive year in 2024.

Despite failing to bring the title home in the SG Ball Cup grand final against St George Illawarra, Woods did claim the Player of the Series award to underline his immense talent.

And Bulldogs forward Josh Curran has been left impressed by Woods' communication skills and willingness to voice his opinions amongst the team, despite his age, in the pre-season.

"He’s been really good," Curran told SEN following Woods’ integration into the main squad.

"I’ll tell you what, these halfbacks these days can definitely speak - he’s a confident kid."

The Dogs settled upon their first-choice halves midway through the previous campaign with Toby Sexton usurping Drew Hutchison.

The former Gold Coast halfback had to bide his time in reserve grade, before being picked by Cameron Ciraldo.

Yet he built an impressive partnership in quick time alongside Matt Burton as the Bulldogs qualified for the finals for the first time in eight years.

Sexton is expected to line up alongside Burton once again in 2025, although the 23-year-old has entered into the final year of his contract.

It is unclear exactly where the club stands in relation to a new deal for Sexton, with the NSW Under 18s representative quietly lurking in the background as he learns his craft.

"He’s trying to learn as much as he can and he’s always doing video and helping out where he can," Curran said.

"As a young kid, he’s just coming in each day and trying to learn and that’s all you can do.

"I’ve been pretty impressed with him."

I like Woods, but I'm excited about Tia.

Wouldn't surprise me to see

6. Woods
7. Tia

Down the track.
(had to bold this for the dumb fuck clowns)

Nice to be in this position having such good youth coming through. We all just need to be patient until the fruit ripens ... and it will!
To add, was at training last Saturday, it already looks like Woodsy has gained a keg or two. Tia is bigger in real life than on TV, lean and solid.

Don't quote me on it but Wilson looks more solid than he did when playing this year.
