News Mitch Woods impressing in pre season

he can play 7.. he dominated the Flegg GF last year wearing 7... i think hes our future and maybe this season.. if Sexy goes ordinary and we lose 3 of our first 4 (quite possible) then maybe CC makes a change.. hes mature and tough Tia
It’s going to be interesting especially if we have a slow start!

Should try & get the young 1/2 from penrith or the young bloke from souths ( extremely fast ) who plays fullback they both have good footy IQ better than what we have at present.

We had a slow start last year it still worked out better than most thought. Key point from last year trust the "PROCESS" seems like you've already given up
Yeah I was big on the process last year, it’s going to be difficult with the loss of JAC ,Jarel Skelton and Jacob Kiraz’s injury.
I think the process is more a 3 year plan need to be patient here!
A top 8 finish will be enormous.

The media is saying top 4 the kennel is saying we would be lucky to make the top 8. Trial form can be very divisive. I'll be waiting for round 1 to begin judging our prospects.
Another media outlet suggested we could be facing an ambush in round one. Perhaps the coaches priming their teams for the trials think they are down on confidence and any win will help. Cc will have us ready for round 1 I'm confident in that. The Dragons think they are world beaters and that works in our favour.

They all beat something but not the world.

You really think Brown is worth 1.2 mil a year!?!
Whether brown is worth 1.2 million or not one fact is for sure you cannot win the competition without a $1 million player!
Last team to do it was sharks in 2016 and south’s in 2014 when the salary cap was considerably less.

South's had Greg Inglis would of been really close to the maximum pay day in those days for a star player ? Or no ?

Just saying no one has done it in the last 8 years without a million dollar star.
Let’s hope we can breed one.
3 year plan!

Correct, Storm (multiple) and Penrith (Nathan Cleary) produced their 1 million dollar stars. Roosters bought their man in Cooper Cronk and North Qld was JT.

Wonder if comes into contention in the coming weeks

I don’t think he is a chance of first grade this season. His body isn’t ready yet, a few weeks in Flegg and then second half of the season in Cup would do him much better.

Had a few injuries over the last few months and Gus has said it’s his body adjusting to full time footy. We are lucky to have another young gun in Tia who can step up before Woods.

Yep. You'd want to bring him on slowly. At best if we have a meaningless game towards the end of the season you'd throw him on the bench to get a feel of the speed at that level.

How is conti progressing havnt heard much about him remember he was touted as the best young half in the junior comp at one stage

Got injured last week in Flegg - but has been playing well in Sgball in a team that is incredibly inconsistent

It’s so unfortunate that Woods is injured. But it happens a lot to young players. Especially smaller ones. He will hopefully come back into jersey flesh in the next few weeks. And within a few weeks be too good for that grade and push it not cup. Then first grade if there is space.

Our club is looking after the kid. But he is a freak and is clearly ready for first grade.

What position are we trying to make him, 5/8th?

If they both hit their potential, no reason why we can't see a Woods/Tia halves combo.

Woods could easily play 7,6,1,14 but he has an elite kicking game.
I reckon he'll play 7 in Flegg and work on his game control and build confidence.
Tia could play 7,6,13,14
