Got high hopes for Baz. But he's changed since his Manly days and he needs to let this playing group know he won't stand for any bullshit, or he's just wasting his time. Imagine how irate Bellamy would be if this happened between any of his player(s).
What like when his star international front rower and back rower were caught hoovering the devils dust...and he did absolutely nothing considering that was caught on tape, and actually illegal in comparison ?

I’d be surprised if they actually turn on Baz over it....Elliott has long been a maligned player on here.... if the club supports him as I expect they will, it will cop some of the heat, but it will settle down in time.... especially if performance improves on field..... they will always have the knives out for Elliott though.

That’s the main reason I support him so staunchly. I genuinely like him as a player and think he’s a good bloke who needs to learn when to cut himself off sometimes. But I amp up the Elliott love to play devil’s advocate to all the haters.... lol
:tearsofjoy: i'm neutral on the guy but the reactions are over the top imo.YES get the group to vote maybe or just give him a last chance and move on..whatever happens sort it out quickly ffs.
He was drunk and kissed a girl hardly up there in terms of seriousness, the other numbnut HIT A WOMAN which is 10 times worse..yet barely gets mentioned

Elliott antics give Barrett’s new Canterbury credo an early test

Honesty. Trust. Respect. Accountability.

Just before lunch last Sunday, new Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett told football club members that these would be the four pillars that the club’s culture would be built upon under his tenure.

“Values for me are really important,” Barrett told members tuning into Canterbury’s annual general meeting via Zoom.

“One of the things we’ve worked hard on this year – post Christmas it’s been an everyday thing for us – is building the culture.

“Being able to identify, for us to know what we’re about, here at Canterbury.”

Just a few hours prior to uttering those words, Adam Elliott – a member of the Bulldogs’ senior leadership group – allegedly kissed the partner of one of his closest friends, former teammate Michael Lichaa. Happy Valentine’s Day.

The incident triggered an altercation between Lichaa, his partner Kara Childerhouse and Elliott. Lichaa’s fate will be decided in court after attracting three police charges, beginning with the first mention of the case at Sutherland on Wednesday.
The question for the Bulldogs is this; what to do with Adam Elliott?

Given the incident is a private matter that took place in a private residence – no charges have been laid against Elliott – the NRL is unlikely to sanction him. An argument could be made that the Bulldogs forward has brought the game into disrepute, but it is likely to be a matter for the club rather than the governing body.

Which will put the onus for action on Canterbury in what is shaping as an early test for Barrett’s pillars. The response has the potential to not only shape the season ahead but also place a marker for what the “family” club’s new regime stands for.

There is a new coach, new chairman, new chief executive and new recruiter (former Eels talent spotter Peter Sharp starts on Wednesday). How will they respond to rugby league’s very own Wayne Carey moment?

Most mornings, Bulldogs players are engaged in a discussion about culture upon their arrival at Belmore at 7.45am. It’s part of an initiative introduced with the help of another new staffer, former All Blacks coach Steve Hansen. What would Hansen have done with Elliott had this happened in his previous gig?

Such incidents have the potential to torpedo a season before it has even started. This time last year the club was rocked by revelations of players Jayden Okunbor and Corey Harawira-Naera becoming embroiled in a sex scandal. The pair were deregistered and then had their contracts reinstated on appeal. The Bulldogs never recovered and narrowly avoided the wooden spoon. If the latest issue isn’t handled judiciously, Barrett’s tenure could get off to an inauspicious start.

The matter is a delicate one for the club hierarchy. Elliott is one of the game’s premier forwards, one who took less money to remain a one-club player after knocking back a huge offer from the Warriors. If his contract is ripped up, the 26-year-old won’t struggle to find a new club.

Off the field, the Bulldogs have seen the best and worst of their star forward. The Tathra product was nominated for the Ken Stephen medal for his community work, which has resulted in tens of thousands of dollars being raised for the Autism Community Network.
“He’s the world’s greatest bloke when sober, the problem is when he drinks,” a source close to Elliott said.

For proof, look no further than his Mad Monday antics from 2018. Elliott was fined $25,000 for wilful exposure, while the club was slugged $250,000 by the NRL, an amount that was later halved. It’s not the only time nude pics of the back-rower have made their way into the public domain.

“I’m through those dark times now and I’m a lot wiser,” Elliott told the Herald after the Mad Monday debacle. “I’ve learned from what happened.”

Canterbury powerbrokers are agonising over what to do next. Of all the feedback to be considered, that of the senior leadership could prove pivotal. Some members remain close to Lichaa.

Barrett is said to be in favour of retaining Elliott. If that occurs, Elliott will need to own his mistakes and repay the faith. Otherwise, those pillars won’t stand for anything.

They totally took Vlasnik's post about the four pillars and used that same premise for their article.

Pearce may be a boofhead but at least he comes out and fronts up and apologises. Elliott will go on bloke in a bar or some other podcast, talk up our "massive offseason" "we wanna be better than last year" "the bulldogs are back this year, we built a good foundation last year" etc

Nek Minut, Canterbury's Board are so disappointed with this incident they rip up Elliot's contract, re-instate Lichaa and promote him to Captain on a 5 year back ended deal making Michael the million $ hooker we were all chasing...:o
That would also be a mistake taking him back

So it went from kissing in a car to f...ing, how many kennelers were there watching this thing.
Just seems to be blown way out of proportion.
Clearly Lichaa is the guy with issues and would be requiring support right now. Elliott has just been a bit of a goose. Booze, if he was in fact drunk, doesn't appear to be Elliott's friend. Its not like he raped a colleague in a federal ministers office.

The kids were only “metres away” now? Are you even sure he fucked her, because that is not the story from lichaa and Elliott’s lawyer. By all shouts Lichaa had his share of indiscretions in that relationship too.

A bunch of dysfunctional people with relationship issues? Sure. But does that make them worthy of this level of hate and animosity? I know people close to me who have made big mistakes in their relationships and are still fundamentally good people.

People are so quick to judge a situation .... even if they are nothing but spectators looking on from the nosebleed seats.

I’d suggest waiting for more detail to emerge before sharpening the pitch fork.
Fair points mate. Fair points.

It's 'funny' actually cause we're quick to condemn anything from the Telecrap but we're a bit like that newspaper ourselves, aren't we?

Is that proven is it
Fcuk I hate lichaa more than the average bloke but to call him a women basher off the bat is too good
Lol Adam Elliot is innocent but lichaa is guilty already
What a hypocrite you are
Finchie you seem in the know. And the incident that happened. Both men used loosely the term. And the woman need a big reality check from what I’ve been told. Families on both side disappointed with the incident

Nah don’t agree man, it’s saucy, creates plenty of interest and sells papers. Shit like that happens every day all Over the country.

The media are loving it, the ‘scandal’ appeals to both males and females. Killing it financially on the Click bait articles too just quietly.
And FFS there’s 1000 comments in this post just as an other example.

If it wasn’t ‘NRL Players’ Elliott and Lichaa it wouldn’t be news. Add to that it’s the Bulldogs and interest is turbo-charged given our past.

Disagree that it wouldn't be news... It's more compelling because it's us for sure.

The playing group probably know loads of other guys within that have done or doing the same thing
I don’t think they will disown him over this
Nor do I think he will get sacked
I think your probably right. Why would they give 2 shits and its none of their business anyway. As for worrying bout him around their partners as some have suggested, maybe they should rethink their partners.
But the fact remains that it puts Trent in a bad position. That and no matter what he did or didnt do, it has resulted in him drawing bad publicity to the beginning of our season and then there is our sponsors.

Severely punished maybe even activate the balance of his suspended fine for his last act
